WPGBBFAN
I think it's mind bogging that the Jets bring out Flacco week after week guaranteeing a loss. Give another guy a chance lol. It's comical

Jet9
I find him to be soft, not very good overall and plays behind a soft line. Chicken and egg stuff but this is another lost season. This kid is Alexandre Daigle but actually happy. Good looking kid. He's Blonde Sanchez. I also don't think this team is very talented, but that's another thread. 1

CS doesn't have a clue who they are/want to be. that's not going to change. Either you're a HC and you bring that to table, or you don't. The point disparities at the end of so many of these Jet games unfortunately shouts that Saleh and his assistants are unfortunately very much in over their heads, and I don’t think they’ll be able to make up this much ground while continuing their On The Job NFL training. The Cincy game has finally convinced me. I’ll watch the rest of Saleh’s tenure disinterested on an emotional level, hoping for the best yet expecting the worst….Every play….Every game. I actually was glad when Saleh got the job, thinking he was best of what was available.

win4ever
IF (and that's a big IF) Wilson can run like he did last year (not usage, just ability), I think Wilson will be a very good QB this year. I would say top 20. IF he's not running, he will suck like last year. Too many teams will drop back linebackers, and put pressure on the QB with 4 rushers. If he steps up in the pocket or rolls out well, that negates some of the issues. If he floats back like early last year, and tries to beat teams with just his arms, then start scouting next year's draft. At least that's what I hope, lol.

I think our offense has the potential to keep us in games if he does that. Competent QB play makes us functional and I expect that to happen. However, I am extremely worried about the defense and fear it’s not going to get better. Even if Wilson plays well, I don’t see more than 7 wins being a realistic possibility with this defensive personnel/scheme/coaching The question is: Do you really think Zach Wilson will make a difference? We're not debating whether he has more potential/moxy... If you suddenly put a healthy Justin Herbert out there in Green & White, you're gonna see a bump in the stats dept. But really... are the Jets suddenly going to look like an NFL franchise who expects to win? The class of the AFCE?... Frustrate opposing OCs? Move with a sense of purpose for 4 quarters? Dictate a game? ....One game??... EVER?????? We've all seen this movie before.
BloodGreen
From what I have seen the coaching is the problem here, while QB play has been really subpar, this team is poorly coached. ZW will make the offense better, I truly believe that based on his ability to get outside the pocket and extend plays. The bigger issue is this team consistently looking unprepared. There is obvious talent throughout this roster, especially with the younger players, but they NEED TO BE COACHED UP! Veterans need to lead, not vice versa with rookies bringing A Game and trying to motivate the vets.
BloodGreen
Plus, why are the best players defensively not on the field throughout the game? QW needs to be out there for at least 80% of the snaps. It’s crazy this stupid DL rotation philosophy. There is zero flow for the defense, and no opportunity for them to gel.

How much in “garbage time”? Actually close to HALF that. The Cleveland game had lots of “garbage time” yards too. Overcoming a statistical disadvantage so pronounced, it was, I don’t like to say it, but that doesn’t mean it is not True….a MASSIVE FLUKE. BloodGreen
Joe Flacco threw for 901 yards in 3 games this season. Wake me up when Zach does that.Slow release, immobile, and missing open receivers. I don’t question his arm at all, that has been his only strength to be honest. The truth is that Flacco’s time has passed and ZW brings all the things Flacco does today with so much more, in his ability to escape the pocket when it breaks down and extend plays. We saw a lot of that in him last season with very limited offensive playmakers. Now we actually have playmakers, and ZW’s escapability will only highlight the rest of the skill positions talent. It will get better for sure, but the coaching staff still remains the biggest question mark at this point in my opinion. I don’t think calling his ceiling a Drew Brees comparison is all that crazy. Against a very good defense. If we fall behind by two scores and have to play from behind, it is going to get ugly. Lets talk about this for a second.... How long have we've been reactive/keep up football? 15 years?... 20? Think about it. When was the last time the Jets dictated the score... Win or lose, you (the opponet) were gonna have to roll up your sleeves and throw down against the Jets. We have been "trying to keep up" with NFL offenses since Vinny.
JoeNamathsFurCoat
Honestly, no Zach will add his own flourishes of failure to the same sort of mistake-filled mess Coach can put this on his story wall All gas
Irish Jet
It’s probably the only thing that can save Saleh at this point. Generally QB’s who start badly in the modern passer friendly NFL stay bad. Josh Allen has been the ultimate exception and it looks like if anyone in Zach’s class elevates from their rookie season it will be Lawrence. I think Lawrence may have legitimately had one of the worst coaches in NFL history and Meyer seemingly alienated everyone before the season even began. We need to hope for a similar jump he is taking but I do think it’s very unlikely. More likely he’ll continue to struggle the same way Fields has, Zach was no better as a rookie and a lot of issues were so basic it’s hard to see how they’re gone in 12 months. I’ll watch and hope for the best but no I do not believe things will get much better, if at all.

GreenFish
I thought this was a 7 win team with Zach, a good OL (oops) and a strong DL (double oops). The DL and OL are worse than I expected. Im thinking we are a 5-6 win team now. Our defense hasnt gotten meaningfully better compared to last year. I think the offense will look better with Zach.
