Let's keep this guy off the field 40% of the game while our defense continues to suck.

the whole "play him more" thing doesn't align with Q's career

as a prospect he lived in an 8 man rotation at Bama and did it well enough to be a top 5 pick in the NFL draft

he's at his best in a rotation

the Jets have alot of problems, QW and the DLine aren't really among them

the safeties suck that's a way worse problem than "QW not playing enough"

the fanbase loves to harp on the defense for whatever reason but the front seven is playing hard.

You can't win a game when the other team is scoring TD's and your offense is settling for field goals

It doesn’t matter. Nathan Shepherd and Jacob Martin don’t belong in the NFL let alone playing 40% of the snaps.

Some of the line are playing well. Some are absolutely terrible. You do not invest what we have in that group for them to sit as often as they do. It clearly isn’t working.

This isn't Alabama, it's the NFL. It would be cool to at least see if he can still be as productive with more snaps since he seems to be a dominant player. If playing 70% of the snaps causes a drop-off in production then dial it back, but not even trying is stupid, IMO.

No one is saying Q not playing more snaps is the cause of all our problems. I don't know why every comment this week seems to be responded to with this dumb crap. NO sh*t!

I don't know who needs to hear this, but we can discuss something about the Jets without that thing being everything that is wrong with the Jets.

Maybe you are right, but I'd still like to see them try to play him more and see how he handles it.

60-65% of snaps just seems too low for your best defensive player, especially one that wins the vast majority of his one on one situations.

For all the complaining about the DL rotation, Williams is the only guy you'd especially like to see playing more, and it really wouldn't be all that much more.

Lawson/Williams/Rankins/Franklin-Myers

Williams/Mosley/(Alexander/Carter)

Reed/Joyner/Whitehead/Gardner

This is an absolutely terrible starting defense. Rotate, don't rotate, you can't get around the fact that Douglas has spectacularly failed to turn all those resources into a functional roster. Keeping Shepherd and bringing in Thomas instead of having a single nose tackle, why? Leaving this logjam of bad players at linebacker where it's easiest to just find guys if you make any kind of opportunity available, why? Using marginal picks on premium positions and getting lucky to find good-enough solutions in Hall and Echols, only to have the return on investment go to zero when you inevitably have to increase the spend to upgrade, why?

There's dead weight and inefficiency all over the depth chart. Playing nine guys on the line instead of eight makes almost no difference at all.

shepherd is actually playing well too and there are stats to prove it

Look i wasn't really a fan of his either but they are a good group

the fans really have these narratives they love to push and one of them is that the DLine is underperforming

Quinnen Williams is the team's best player and the fans sh*t on him morning noon and night

we should look at the offense under the same scrutiny

Max doesn't have enough server space for us to discuss EVERYTHING wrong with the Jets

playing hard, f that how about if they get some results.

I am so sick of this excuse laden 'we almost got to the QB' stats

These guys are mediocre run stoppers, can't get to the qb and create no turnovers.

If a person is going to excuse quinnen for being double teamed each play and being so beastly then in the same breath you has better just be eviscerating the rest of the dline.

it's not an excuse but points will be scored - the other side gets paid too etc.

the reason why we have such high expectations for the defense is because 7-0 feels like 70-0 with this offense

Because most people can see beyond sacks.  They proudly tell you how the don’t care about pressures or near hits.  That’s all you need to know.

Second only to Donald when it comes to double team rate and pass rush win percentage.

Of course Donald plays 92% of the snap counts, Q only gets on the field 63% of the time.

i really don't care anymore.

Just win some games. On purpose for once, too.

I think REX would utilize him and the two Jets CBs to an ideal.  Though, Rex would like to have a lot more leverage/weight behind his LB's as opposed to the Saleh bee swarm defense.

Rex is too busy running around on The Amazing Race

Wow...so is this Ulbrich basically calling Q out for being out of shape?

If this is true, it's a bad look for Q and frankly Ulbrich for publicly calling him out on it.

If this is not true, I can't wait to see the incident that will occur on the sidelines Sunday between Q and Ulbrich.

Lost in the data, Rankins has actually been pretty good. And the run defense has been league average which is a huge upgrade from last year.  The problem to me is still on the edge.  JFM doesn't belong out there, Lawson looks rusty (or possibly done) and JJ/Clemons are still raw.  I would hope Huff gets a shot this week.
