Popular Post MykePM
Quote Coach of the week: Jets coach Robert Saleh. The Jets finished a crippling tour of the AFC North by winning two games on the road. They trailed by double digits in the fourth quarter of each game. Most recently, Saleh kept his team focused and confident throughout a game full of momentum swings. He has them believing, which has them achieving. Other finalists: Chiefs coach Andy Reid, Patriots coach Bill Belichick, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, Bills coach Sean McDermott https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/10/05/pfts-week-4-2022-nfl-awards/

Maccagnan’s first moves were to pay big money to veteran players whose performances had a one-year shelf life - giving him solid immediate results, positive early feedback, and an award, while destroying the team’s future. Saleh’s philosophy (in lockstep with Joe Douglas’s) has been to invest in and play young talent - which has caused him and the team to have poor results initially (and to take a lot of criticism), while potentially setting the team up for long-term success. Hopefully this award is an indication that the philosophy is starting to pay off, and that the lumps he’s taken up until now will turn into roses going forward. 8 1

Popular Post Untouchable
I think he’s largely looked like he’s in over his head, but I’d say he deserves it this week. While many Jets fans were losing their sh*t over him not burning timeouts inside 40 or so seconds on the final drive, he did the smart thing by milking the clock and leaving the Steelers in a situation where they needed a miraculous Hail Mary attempt to possibly win the game. The defense also played their most complete game of the season. Hats off With that said, coach some discipline into these motherf*ckers and hammer how important situational football is into their skulls. We still have veteran dudes like Lawson, Davis, etc doing stupid, unnecessary sh*t that gives the opposing team free yardage and gifted opportunities.

Popular Post The Crusher
Yeah for Booby. They pulled it out last week. Let’s hope he likes the way it feels so he does it about 7-8 more times this year. I’d be his friend if he does. Booby running stairs at the stadium and me sitting in an isle seat telling him what condiment to run up next.

Trotter
What has surprised me the most about saleh is you really do not see him coaching. I can’t recall seeing him with position players during a game or even talking with the defense which is his specialty. I know they wanted a ceo type and that is what he is doing. He truly seems to be hands off when it comes to individual unit coaching. not saying that is good, bad or indifferent just the complete opposite of what I thought he would be

Popular Post jetstream23
It seems that we’ve moved from the “Can’t they just win some games,” to “Yeah, they’re winning, but I’m not happy about HOW they’re winning” phase of JN evolution here. 5

I personally love Florio though because you always know what to expect from the guy and he never lets a good opportunity to drag the NFL go to waste ?

I enjoy PFT on the occasional times I read it and I'm fine with Florio. I just think these types of awards are a bit silly. Was it really Saleh's coaching that won him the award? Or was it the fact that the Jets won in an exciting comeback in ZW's debut so "let's put a spotlight on them"?
