And woody has had a completely horrible record as owner ever since Rex

Just exclude the back to back title games.. lol way to shape the argument.

Woody actually try’s to build a winner.. Hess built perennial losers.

They both got to afcg.  By any metric there’s no difference

Playoff wins. Overall excitement. Not sharing the dump that was Giants stadium.

Say what you want to say but the JETS were a joke under Hess. With Woody back the JETS are relevant immediately again and I am confident he will keep it that way.

The jets were a joke for a 3 year period before Hess hired parcels.  The jets have been an utter disaster for 10 years until this year it looks like it finally turned around but let’s see Zach actually win games and not just hand off

You are ignoring the first 12 years woody owned the team… Also ignoring the fact the JETS were also a complete disaster during the 70s

Hess 30 years - 4 playoff wins - 2 AFCCG

Woody 22 years - 6 playoff wins - 2 AFCCG

With an 8 year head handicap Woody has already brought a better product to JETS fans.

And like I said before woody inherited a roster built by Parcells from scratch who I recall being hired by Hess

Belichick even said himself he would have stayed and taken over as coach of Hess had still been around

Woody did better with his own roster 10 years later.

and good for BB… he would also be a sub 500 coach without Brady. Glad you love him

If you really believe this then I have no reason to listen to anything further you have to say about the NFL.

When Woody arrived, the GOAT HC suddenly wanted nothing to do with this franchise.

He was far from being the GOAT at the time.

Woody then had a team that actually had back to back great years which Hess never had.

We don’t have to agree, but simply in black and white facts Woody has Outperformed Hess in a shorter time in basically every measurement for an owner.

They won more in less time.

They have attracted big names.

They have a state of the art stadium without another teams name on it.

State of the art team facility.

Made a Jersey that tributes both of the most popular jerseys.

people just love to complain instead of embracing all the good he has done

BB was anointed the HC by BP.  It lasted 1 day because BB wanted absolutely nothing to do with Woody.  It probably cost us a 2 decade dynasty.

BP made plenty of bad decisions in coaching and front office in the 90s and 2000s

I get it you love BB and somehow blame Woody… but if you think BB was a dynasty without Brady you’ve lost your mind

He did but he also got us the closest we've been to winning a Super Bowl since Namath.

It's easy to hate BB around here but we'd obviously all have loved him if he did here what he did in New England.  Ftr, I think we would've drafted Brady here had BB been in charge.

That’s not true. Rex and Woody did… 2 years in a row.

You guys need to learn to use more than 1 part of your brain. Jets players look great. Their uniforms are still trash.

While others need to realize that no matter what the uniform looks like there will be people that could care less, people that hate them and people who love them.
To continually bring the topic up thinking you can convince people your opinion is all that counts make 0 sense

As great a HC as Parcells has been, closer than Walton or Rex

Let's not kid ourselves.  The Rex teams had 2 great runs but we all knew deep down that those teams weren't good enough.

The 1998 Jets led 10-0 in the 2nd half in Denver and would've faced the Falcons (who they beat soundly in regular season) in the Super Bowl.  Plus that team had both BP and BB on the CS.  It was head-and-shoulders our best chance to win it all.

I loved that Rex loved the franchise and his first HC job was with the Jets.  And neither BP nor BB loved it here (as we saw in the 30 for 30).   But that 1998 team was so incredibly close to winning it all.  It was the only time I've ever felt like it was truly within reach.

Let's hope this team can get there.  That's why I really look forward to watching ZW each week (hoping he'll break out).

??

So Rex does it back to back…

but BP and your lover BB get a free pass for being out coached the one time?

I put up a poll on JN a few years ago asking what team came closest to winning the SB.  The 1998 team won (IIRC, it was in a landslide).  I'll see if I can find it.  The Rex teams had some great runs but we all knew deep down that they would likely run out of steam, which they did.

That's like saying Hamburger Helper is an upgrade over Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee. It is. But they both still suck.
