Carl Lawson 47% win rate

His last 3 games have been great.  I was concerned that he was simply never going to get back to his old self and maybe his "new ceiling" was something like 85% of what the old Carl Lawson was.  These stats might show that it's just taking a few weeks or a month to get back into the groove and game shape.  Maybe he wasn't going full tilt the first couple games but now he's gaining confidence?

In any case, we have a pretty good Edge group now that Huff is being used more.  Need to see what the story is on JJ's ankle.

Doesn't really need much of an explanation. But I definitely was one of the guy so excited when he got signed. I thought dude was sack machine in the making.

Then the injury. Then maybe he wasn't really good cause it was against becton. Then week 1 and 2. And I was like well at least he plays solid if not great.

Well 47% seems insane win rate.i want to see the sack and see what it looked like in week 10 but man we might have something here.

I'm hopeful man, and it's great feeling

He had one of the worst injuries a DE can deal with ...it was supposed to take time for him to get back to his old self . This is what I've been saying for weeks the Jets pass rush never got gong because we rarely play with a lead so they can be unleashed and you have to respect the run. This very well could be the turn around game we've been waiting for with this young team.

You have to get sacks and you have to get turnovers.  Despite my criticism of saleh and the DC we have been getting both.  Getting clsoe, pressure, win rates mean dick all in the long run.  You have to get turnovers and actually sack the other qb and force possession changes.

I saw Rankins, JFM and Q in that backfield all day. Mostert  made some nifty moves escaping several TFL.  All around good game by DL

Interesting. I thought the d line played like crap for most of the game. Dolphins o line was pushing them around for about 3 quarters. There’s a reason why Raheem Mostert averaged 6.5 yards a carry.

When jets jumped out to a big lead in the 4th the dolphins had to abandon the run and the jets dline could just pin there ears back and attack the qb.

On mostert he looked everybut vintage 49er monstert. Guy can move

Not sure how any D line that is spread out so much can ever be a good run defense. One has to think that the LB's are supposed to be the ones who are tasked with stopping the run. Problem is, its usually after they gain at least 4-8 yards.

The lowish sack rate is not a product of his Achilles injury, Lawson is the same guy he's always been. A straight line bully who can dominate his blocker 1:1 but has trouble converting those pressures into sacks.

Pressures are, of course, valuable as hell and Lawson is very good at what he does. He can -- and has over his career -- been successful without gaudy sack numbers.

The achilles is getting stronger and he is getting back to his old self.  Achilles are tough to come back from.  Its great news that he is getting better each game.  Aaron Rodgers better have his head on a swivel next week.

Not sure they get stronger I think they become more pliable as time passes.

Carl Lawson is more of a pressure guy / disrupter than a sack machine, at least by what we saw in cinci. Sacks are great and I know the jets signed him thinking that the sacks might be right around the corner, but if he’s winning at a higher rate than the mean, this will be great for our defense. Ruining the timing of a play / forcing the play to go off script can be just as impactful.

teh sacks will come it is not a "sticky" stat so to speak but those pressures are back from him. It is a relief after injury and everythign else. If it keep up he is going to be seen as huge cornerstone for us on def. As planned by the great Joe Douglas.

He definitely seems like he is ascending - Ulbrich slowed down the pass rush rotation this week and it resulted in one of the best pass rushing days we’ve had in a long time. I’m looking forward to seeing what a full 17 game season looks like for this d-line. We could have multiple 10 sack guys in QW and Lawson

Lawson's coming on.  A strip sack and 7 QB hits against Fins.   Starting to become the player Jets signed him to be last year.

Recovering from a serious torn Achilles...this is very encouraging play over these last three games.

Me too hope he can stay healthy and continue the upswing.

Lawson played lights out yesterday, dude was living in the backfield, I think I read that he had 7 hurries?  holy sh*t!!!

JFM finally showed up yesterday too, very disruptive.  Had a sack and a tip that led to a pick.

Cool thing about Lawson is that he's made big sacks 2 times in the 4th quarter this year. If you can't hurry the opposing QB in the 4th quarter then you're not elite IMHO. When you have a lead in the 4th and you know the other team has to throw that's when the big boys show up and that's also the reason for all the rotations we currently run to keep the big guys fresh. Its smart to rest players you need to perform in the 4th Quarter with the game on the line that's why I find it funny when people on this board cry when guys like Lawson Quinnen and JFM get rests throughout the game that's smart coaching. While I have been critical of Saleh in some instances, not knowing what's actually being called, makes that criticism a bit premature. Most teams don't get rolling until after week 4 anyway unless your the Elite teams.
