I always choose skill over role wherever possible.  White has no competition for touches but he sucks, a lot, and also isn’t a pass catcher.  And that TB offense is just plain gross.

Cook, meanwhile, has competition for touches + a running QB to contend with, but has some “league winner” type skills and upside, particularly if Damien Harris gets hurt.  He’s a 3-down back with a decent floor and a much higher ceiling than White.

So whether we’re talking re-draft or keeper, I’d rather have Cook when factoring in cost.

I'm leaning that way too, but the TB beat reporters are saying he will be VERY active in the pass catching role and he has the talent for it but was just not used in the role.

I have no doubt he’ll be used in a 3-down capacity and will get enormous volume as a result.

But if checkdown/short passing king Tom Brady couldn’t find a whole lot of effective use for him as a pass catcher (and why should he when he had Evans, Godwin, etc), what makes the beat writers think Mayfield/Trask will?

His numbers weren’t terrible in the receiving game last year and maybe he’ll show improvement.  I just would rather another fantasy GM be the one to find out.  A guy who only averages 4.3 yards from scrimmage per touch PRIOR to a massive downgrade at QB just isn’t very appealing to me at his ADP/cost.

I know the RB “dead zone” isn’t really a thing this year because of how many quality RBs are getting passed over for WRs in drafts this year, but if EVER there was a RB dead zone guy, it’s Rachaad White.

What are your opinions on Rachaad White this year?  TBB OL sucks.

I have an opportunity to grab him in a keeper league instead of James Cook on my roster.  4 keepers: Garrett Wilson, Waddle, Najee Harris are set.  For the 4th, I can either draft (4th round) , keep J Cook or trade for White (who woould then be my 4th round pick).  Not sure what it will cost.

My choices: Draft in Rd 4, Keep James cook in lieu of the 4th, or invest in trading pick for White (who would then be in lieu of the 4th.) Essentially, I'd be using my 4th and whatever the traded pick is to the other team to get White.    Probably would have to give him a rd 7, 8, 9 or thereabouts.

@Jetsfan80 @Lurker89 @PS17 @32EBoozer @Barry McCockinner and @anyone else who reads this thread.

My ranking in order of preference:

1. 4th round pick

2. Cook

3. White - just not a fan and that team is going to be terrible

I'm  100% on the 4th round pick. Give me a 4th round WR over both easily.

Isnt the ADP on both well below a 4th rounder.....(checks notes*) it is.

I'm gonna start the drum beat now..... Sean Tucker... Sean Tucker... Sean TUCKER!!!.... SEAN TUCKER!!!!!!!!!

So personally I think Tucker before the medical red flags and therefore not participating in the combine would have been a third round RB. Went undrafted got paid 200K by the Bucs as a UDFA and if healthy will take Whites lunch money.

But hey I love Sean Tucker.

With 12 teams that each have from 2 to 4 keepers, it makes standard redraft ADP a bad comparison. RBs are sparse.  ADP applies to redrafts.  My 3 keepers already include Garrett Wilson, Waddle and Najee Harris.  Probablly draft and go with BPA when it's my turn, but I'll be leaning RB or Hockenson, if he's still on the board, or a 2nd RB before picking WR.  This league starts 2 RBs, 2 WRs, TE, and 2 non-QB flex spots. The usual starting roster is 3 RBs + 3 WRs, but some people do 2/4 or 4/2.  Basically there are roughly 36 RBs starting every week.  ADP is used for leagues that start 2 RBs mostly or 2 RBs + 1 flex.  Trust me when I tell you that Rachaad White will be taken in Rd 4 and Cook probably 4 or 5.  I'm willing to wait to see who drops to me there.

That makes sense. Im strictly redraft and dynasty between my bunch of leagues so good insight on the keeper situation.

100% like the top 3 upside of Hock at a thin onesie position  over those two. I think both are being at their ceiling and will be RB2s that disappoint.

Whites Jag+ in my book

Cook had 1500 yards rushing  and 730 recieving his entire college career ...not a profile I like or want to chase. At best committee backs at worst second fiddle to other backs on their team. Harris is going to take work from Cook.

My Sean Tucker love blinds me to some of Rachaad Whites upside. White had almost 1500 yards from scrimmage his senior year his only productive year but thats a good year and was enough to get him 3rd round NFL draft capital.

Tucker had 1750 his sophomore year and 1300 his junior year. His fall from grace combine/draft/medical red flags wise was something to behold. Should be a real one in the NFL.

They could be a decent committee.

Anyone else sometimes shy away from Jets even though they're worthy of the draft spot bc you think you're making a homer pick?

I was drafting 12th in a .5ppr league and passed on drafting GW at 13. Which I think I'll regret. I drafted CeeDee Lamb instead.

Both good picks at cost. I took Sun God and Garret Wilson 12/13 in one of my best ball drafts.

I only draft Jets if the value is Good... I'm fine with a late 1st on GWill and a 4th on Breece this year.

Main Money Redraft league.

Couldnt stop drafting WRs that were falling.

Autopicked a kicker round 15 when my phone neglected to inform me it was my pick normally would be my last pick which screwed me on defense.

Overall happy with the team not a huge fan of stacking Diontae and Friermuth but options at TE were limited and Muth fell... both should hog some targets.

You gents starting Breece out the gate? I could supplement with AJ Dillon week 1.

Dropping Pickett for Michael Mayer as my TE fill in for week 6.

Since your only alternative to Breece in Week 1 is AJ Dillon I think you kind of have to start Breece if he's playing!  Just gotta lower your expectations.  Tough matchup and the performance by RBs with his injury the year after is always muted; he will likely not start to look like the Breece of old until Week 6 or later.  Breece is on my fade list this year for that reason but he'll be a strong target for me in 2024.

If it was a keeper/dynasty - you're ready for Victoria Secret.

Redraft... I'd move D. Johnson the first big week he has, gotta find something at RB stronger than Robinson. I don't like Dillon but i think he sees more action this year. Breece risky till Oct. We paid Cook a lot of money to carry the load for a few weeks.

Something stronger than Bijan in an Arthur Smith  offense at RB?

I took him at 4 ... I'm that bullish on his RB1 potential this year. Trying to skate to where the puck is going.

Diontae seems like a prime candidate for positive regression considering he had 147 targets last year 169 the year before ... he's a target hog and a volume play at WR3 I'm comfortable with. Just hate stacking recieving options on the same team.

Yeah but you won't  be getting Breece in the 4th/5th round next year. The idea was to have 2 elite RB1s the second half of the year.

Dillon had 770 and 7 TDs last year and AJ is another year older... add to that a 1st year starter who will need run support... just saying...

Maybe in a league with Jets fans, no. But barring that I expect Breece will end up outside of the top 15 fantasy backs this year which will depress his ADP a bit in ‘24.

Of course @Paradis is advocating trading away a receiver that’s only 5-10.  😜

Recency bias says different...

I agree hell be outside the top 15 due to an early season dip but if he is top 10 down the stretch and the Jets push deep into the playoffs no one will remember he had an early slump.

Going into next year all the FF talking heads will be talking about his efficiency the second half of the season. After that I highly doubt he makes it out of the 2nd in 2024.

Add to that the fact that D Johnson hasn't lived up to his projections in years. Pass.  Give me Dotson instead every day.

Eh.  I do like Dotson a lot.  But I also like Diontae.  Diontae had a lot of bad TD luck last year and I expect Pickett to take a pretty significant leap as well.  He's a solid WR to take in the Rd 6-7 range and to target in trades.

Might be a guy to target for a trade mid-season when he's not putting up big time numbers. Expecting a stronger 2nd half as he returns to more Breece like.

Bingo.  A guy you trade for, not draft.  Also in that category is Javonte Williams.

And if you draft Dalvin and/or Perine, look to trade them away starting Week 5 or so.
