First game he played this year when he launched that ugly pick to end the first half. It’s no secret he’s not good under pressure trying to make something happen other than avoiding the sack and throwing ball away . He was amazing during the stretch against Pittsburgh when he had a clean pocket and got into a rythym. You’re not being very specific. Against Pitt the ugly pick happened because Moore ran the wrong route and brought his CB into the area where Jeff smith was going to be. He completed a dime to Davis the play before they was incorrectly called incomplete. And like you said, when it came down to it get led us to a clutch win. Rather bizarre to use the pitt game as an example.

Oh... Not being critical of your use of the term. Just saying. And, indeed, they could be foolish and not actually gaslighting. If they actually believe that Wilson is playing well, it is not gaslighting. If they knew that Wilson sucked and they wanted to convince a dupe to speak up on Wilson's behalf so they look foolish in front of others, saying to the dupe that Wilson is great in order to dupe them... Now, that would be gaslighting.

Supersonic
So, Zach is performing poorly during the toughest part of the schedule, and he's getting reamed for it. When he gets to the easy part of the schedule, and if he's playing well, he's gonna get sh!t because he's doing it against bad teams. That's how this forum rolls. I believe that was the underlying point Simms was making. 2
Green Ghost
My new #4 hybrid arrived today, an Epic Super hybrid. These were selling for $399 (titanium head and a premium shaft) last year and I got mine new for $160. It hits like a dream. High, straight 200 yard bombs that drop and stop like a sack of potatoes. This thing is going to be a weapon! What I’m really trying to say here is, Who gives a s**t about Chris Simms?

dbatesman
like, it’s great that he’s so good with a clean pocket, but how often can you guarantee that? I’d love to see some comps, i.e., if this is something guys can get/have gotten better at, or if it’s one of those innate things. We’d better hope it’s the former!

PFF has actually stated that clean pocket grade is one of the most stable metrics for projecting success, and is definitely more valuable than under pressure grade. However the problem here is that his under pressure grade is not just bad, but laughably terrible. Kinda brings the value of the clean grade down a ton.

If I remember correctly, he was the best of the 2021 rookie QBs against pressure, so maybe it’s just one of those stats that fluctuates? I also wonder if they’re coaching him to be more conservative. He certainly looks like a guy who’s doing everything possible not to make a mistake. That’s an optimistic view, maybe, assuming you believe he can just flip a switch. In any event, the bad habits are getting alarming. He’s gotta clean it up.

HawkeyeJet
So I was curious to what Denver’s D did to other QBs this year. Here is the average game for the other 6 QBs they’ve faced. Zach’s game does not go into these. Zach was not very good Sunday. Basically no QBs have been good against the Broncos, including Herbert and Derek Carr. Geno in week 1 was easily the best game against them at 23/28 for 195 and 2 TD 0 int 24/38 for 182 yards and .5TD and .667 INT and a QB rating of 72.03. Also just a fraction above 3 sacks. People can spin this positively or negatively I’m sure, but the main takeaway is that the Broncos defense is just really really good.
