Is he taking the company line or telling the truth?

Recommended Posts

Zach Wilson‘s three interceptions on Sunday were a big factor in the team’s 22-17 loss to the Patriots and head coach Robert Saleh was succinct in his analysis of the quarterback’s play in a postgame press conference.

Saleh said Wilson “has to play better” before adding that he continues to have faith that Wilson will do that in the future. On Monday, veteran linebacker C.J. Mosley said that Saleh has plenty of company in the organization when it comes to that stance.

“Everybody in the building has got his back,” Mosley said, via Al Iannazzone of Newsday.

Wilson didn’t light the world on fire in his first four starts after returning from a preseason knee injury, but, for the most part, he avoided the kinds of mistakes that marred his outing against the Patriots. Other teams are likely to borrow the Patriots’ approach and make Wilson throw as much as possible, so he’ll need to show that support is well-placed for the team to build on its 5-3 start.

it's hard to say.  we're not in the room with these guys.  there are still some bright spots.  first they are still at 5-3.  even if buffalo wins they'll head into the break at 5-4.  the defense had been pretty good at getting turnovers during these past 8 games.  they didn't get one against the patsies and the patsies got 3.  there's pretty much the game difference right there.  wilson can fix this.  he's been pretty good about protecting the ball so far.

Most co-worker type people will say they have your back, will say they care about you as a person, but truth is almost none of them do.

They care about themselves, their own careers, and their own life and problems.  You're an afterthought.  Rightfully so.

I'd guess that is what's in play here.

The team says they have Zach's back....unspoken, is it's as long as he is the starter.

Once/if he's benched, they'll say they have the new starters back.

It’s not company line. You have to have your teammates back until the end. You can’t function as a team if every other player isnt committed to the path your team is taking. It’s JD and Salehs job to put best chance to win out there and right now Zach is playing QB. You gotta believe until they change it.

personal opinions aside it only hurts to publicly express anything and even on a personal level not in public - it doesn’t help, ya gotta role with what’s happening.

At the end of the day it doesn’t really matter.

For whatever reason QB was the one position on this team  that JD showed no concern about upgrading this offseason.

Mosley is a good soldier, and a team leader. He’s also pretty smart. He sees we have no real viable replacement for Wilson on the roster and it’s best to stay the course right now.

Douglas didn't upgrade the QB position this off-season because Zach was his pick. I think now they are finally realizing he isn’t going to improve.
