PFF Rankings: first and last

Both of those rankings are probably exaggerated, but this is where my anxiety over this team stems. We're wasting a very good, playoff-caliber defense on a bottom-tier offense. Silver lining is most of the key pieces will still be under contract for next season.

They have to figure out the QB position.

Honestly, considering its PFF, noting about this is that 'wild'. There have been plenty of teams in the history of the NFL with dominant defenses and putrid offenses. Didn't we see this with Jax just a few years ago around mid way through the season?

At any rate. This sucks to see as a Jet fan. You want your team to be more balanced. But the offense has the talent to be way better that 32nd- and most likely will not end the season ranked so low (my guess is the defense will not end the season ranked #1 either).

Take it with a grain of salt.

Why do we keep using PFF for any type of rankings? They literally admitted that they graded Q without fricking watching him in the game against GB.

DVOA which is also fairly flawed has us at #21 which is more in line with what we are.

Also, Zach has faced in the last two weeks:

The #1 team in pass DVOA in Den

The # 5 team in pass DVOA in NE

Lets give the Jets a little slack. We are still 5-3 and our defense will keep us in every game. On top of that people are not realizing how odd the standings are with most teams already out of the picture,

I am not in love with PFF, but are they always wrong?

Outside of OL their rankings are close to useless. All PFF is really good for is to get perspective on which players are more consistent at not being bad. Their methodology of -2 to +2 for each play though actually works pretty well for the OL as their metrics are pretty binary so it is useful there.

You agree PFF is complete garbage yet you post threads about their rankings every week. Why?

PFF is useless trash. Fake rankings made up by biased "analysts" who don't even watch the games. We have evidence of this.

What metrics are you tracking? Please post a link, thanks.

Geez. What source of information do you track NFL metrics?

Again - I'm not even disagreeing or agreeing with the PFF rankings. Not even paying attention because they're complete trash and should never be referenced by anyone as a legitimate source of anything IMO. PFF = pretend football facts.

IMO - dvoa is the best ranking metrics
