To all Non-Ostriches, what vet QB do we trade for in off season?

Honestly have no idea. Carr would be an underwhelming option even if he weren't regressing, which he is. Minshew is a career backup. I don't feel great just handing him the reins of a contending team. I'm certain Geno is regressing back to the guy we knew if we bring him here, so no thanks there.

We need a legit veteran alternative for Zach, because if he continues on this path, he'll be out on his ear calling BYU scrimmages before his contract is over. Maybe Jacoby Brissett? Mariota? Jimmy G? No great or even good options to be had. May just have to go cheap and sign a cheap vet and then draft one in the mid rounds.

ya I am not saying "here forever", why I think you develop lower pick QBs, but Carr a MILE above Zach to get us thru a few years. Zach mentally just does not have it, Carr aging but still wont lose game mentally and will keep us on field to rest D a bit more.

Main point is get a vet so we dont lose our young studs when they free agents cause with Zach, we in trouble if we have to throw 25 times a game aka power run game not at 100% which will be rare, especially after league saw Belly stack box and throw Garrett down at LOS

1st we offer the world to Lamar and Murray. then Minchew. if they make Carr available i would kick the tires on that too.

i agree. no more rookie QBs, we dont have the time or are very good at that. and i said it before but got laughed at but this is our window to win. from now until 2024-2025.

Lamar I would make a play for. I want nothing to do with Murray.

If you listen to the Josh Allen interview, he makes it sound like him going from garbage to league MVP was almost like a Matrix moment, where all of sudden he saw it and everything slowed down and made sense.  Not saying Zach is the next Neo but he might not be one of these steady progress types.  He might go from suck to The One in an instant.  That's why it's so tough for JD and the CS to bail on the guy if he's still struggling.

Zach wants to be the porn star, but he isn't even a serviceable fluffer.

Getting a vet, maybe even one that we already have on the team could suffice.\

Jimmy G is the one that makes most sense.

This!!!  If Wilson doesn't improve you bring him in on a one year (with an option) contract.

Since Wilson is still on his rookie deal you don't destroy your cap by bringing Garrapolo in.

Then you let them battle it out in camp

I honestly don't know why JD didn't try and get Garoppolo after last season. Not to replace Zach (at the time) but to replace Flacco. Of course, this year I'd replace Zach with Jimmy G if he was currently on our roster.

there will be no battle. Jimmy G will be the starter. your not making a guy making 40 plus million be a backup.

but it sounds good since Jimmy G should beat Zach by a country mile.
