Popular Post WestCoastMole
Looks interesting For the Jets vs Patriots in Foxborough Sunny and Fair with a high of 42 Degrees F For the Brownies vs Buffalo at Rich Stadium A major lake effect storm will roll into Buffalo Friday and continue Saturday. As much as 31 inches of snow is predicted to fall. The weather forecast calls for clearing by Game Time Sunday. Pray that the storm slows down or grows bigger by time it arrives in Buffalo. Weather could give the Cleveland Offense which favors the run a big edge !

If they get caught out do they forfeit the game ?

PS17
I love snow games. I was living in Philly for college when this game went down. I think we got 9 inches of snow in an hour which made for an incredible spectacle and a really memorable football game.

slimjasi
I'm not sure why people think the snow would be a major disadvantage for a passing team - there have been plenty of shootouts on snowy fields. The WRs have the advantage on a slick field, since they know where they are going and the defenders don't. The Kelly-era Bills had some very big passing days in snowy weather.

Would be nice but there's no way Buffalo is losing this game just no way. Also just when I thought Cleveland might be a decent team they got pummeled by the fish.

There have been plenty of HUGE passing performances in snow over the years. I remember the Pats putting up 50 on the Titans in a blizzard in 2009. I just think the "snow hurts passing teams" meme is overrated and I have never seen any data to support it. Also - is there any data to support the notion that the Josh Allen-era Bills are bad in poor weather?

What was noticeably different were the completion percentages, something like 67% normally and 57% in the cold. To your overall point, some* passing attacks can play well in the snow, but most are affected by it. The Pats with Brady are not a good example of the norm imo because that short passing offense would play well in a phone booth. I remember that particular game, the Titans were 0-6 and rolled over and died right from the snap anyway

But again, I'd be curious to see the data overall for all teams over the years. I think the "snow hurts passing teams" concept is overstated and I have never seen any data that shows that it makes an appreciable difference, overall. I think wind is a much bigger factor than snow.

PepPep
I gotta say. While I DO think the good weather favors Zach (even though it also favors Mac)...I don't nec. think the bad weather will favor the Browns because of Allen's ability to run with the ball. Bad weather messes with a pocket passer's footwork but if you a big, athletic QB who can run...I think it favors you big time to play in bad weather. JMHO.
