Popular Post Beerfish
Plaschke knows dick all. Also not firing him makes total sense. As much as I enjoy seeing him fail that team is not far off wins and you do not junk coaches after like 10 games. 7 1

Popular Post Jet2020
They’re still paying gazillions to Gruden. Adding Josh would be like $20 mil going to the sh*tter each year. Plus the new HC they’d wanna fire after a year.

IDK, he was handed a team that went 10-7 a year ago with an interim HC who finished 2nd in a tough division and were in the playoffs. Theyre in last, 2-7 led by a HC who in his first stint as HC was a monumental failure. In every way this season is a huge failure while they have a shiny new stadium to fill and pay off. 1
slats
The best part of this scenario is that the Pats would take him back in a nanosecond, but he won’t be available. 2 1

The only reason would be if it's an Urban Meyer situation where everything he does is a disaster. That isn't the case there, but it looks like McDaniels won't be able to get fired for 2 years at least, which is probably worrying.

#27TheDominator
Unfortunate makes it sound like they are unlucky. They are in this situation because they gave two huge contracts to two of the biggest lunatics in the sport. The only way to top it would be $100M+ contracts to Urban Meyer, Chip Kelly and/or Lou Holtz.

Not all 2-7 records re the same just like not 8-8 records are the same. They have been up and blown leads in a lot of games, they are also hamstrung by the awful previous gming of mayock and gruden.

FootballLove
And Gruden has sued the NFL and Raiders for the entirety of his $100M contract. I hope he wins, and the Raiders have to lay off their entire scouting dept just to pay up.

But the fact remains they were a 10-7 playoff team and blowing leads are still losses. The last GM hamstring them to that record and playoff position. You play 60 minutes, not 40 or whatever point you may have been leading. No one gets credit for being close

Why defend Gruden? Leaked or not, those emails were shameful and horrible. A person who thinks that way and on top of it is stupid enough to put it in an email doesn't deserve an NFL HC job where you have to lead 53 men of different backgrounds. I don't understand the Gruden support from anyone. Gruden's crime was not being exposed, but the content of the emails. He deserves what he got, even if others did the same thing and were not caught or exposed. The emails were not fabricated. Any person in a responsible job who sent emails like those would be fired. Period. Next time you get stopped for a traffic violation like speeding, try the "but I drive this road every day and everybody speeds" argument and see how far that gets you with the police officer and, if you challenge it, the judge. Everybody does it, but only I got caught is not a defense to any kind of violation or crime. Nor is it an excuse for bad judgment or bigotry.
