Hes not going to put anything together on tape.  Hes in a rut he cannot get out of.  This is mental.  When its mental, you need time off to re-calibrate.  When you try to play through mental, it gets worse.

If they want to bring in competition in the offseason and make him earn the job in camp next year, I am fine with that.

Zach has a ton of talent and this staff loves him.  Thye need to help him figure out the mental side of things and unfrotunately, that cant be done during the season.  They tried but you can see its not working.

You cannot bench Zach now. Say what you will about the team winning despite him- but he got you here. White has not put anything on tape or on his resume that justifies trotting him out there. If Zach had a true melt-down against the Pats, sure, I could understand that. But he didn't.

You say its mental and he needs to sit to re-calibrate but I don't buy that. He just had a great, controlled, smart, efficient game where he showed good decision making against a stellar defense and one of the best teams in the NFL (Bills).

How quickly we forget. How could it be this mental block that forces him to the bench for White of all people- a guy who has thrown multiple INTs in every game he has started for the Jets, when Zach just in his last game had no mental block and played great to beat a great team.

Bottom line, he had a bad game, the conditions were tough, BB outcoached us- AGAIN. But Zach is the best we got right now (which yes, is bad), he needs to pick himself up, brush himself off, move on to the Bears and get a W. The Jets CS are committed to him for the rest of this season.

The only thing that will land Zach on the bench is him completely melting down or the team completely melting down.

He seems to have the mental Yips. Hes seeing ghosts and hes more worried about getting sacked than finding open receivers and getting knocked on his butt. I dont know if hes ruined or not, but I feel bad for the kid. His brother is playing well in college and it would be a damn shame of he was the good one ala the Carr brothers. Houston ruined the first one, and the second one is much better.

I have said it a million times on this board - he is terrified to get hit.  He is scared.  One of the Patriots DL players said it after the game yesterday.. something to the effect that once Zach feels pressure he takes his eyes away from downfield and goes into self protection mode.  That is literally how YOU and I would play if they made us suit up at QB for the Jets.   He is scared.  Plain and simple.

I think that Panthers game clenched his a$$hole. It has yet to unclench. Basically, his mental a$$hole is traumatized. lol

All the "haters" need to lay off Zach Wilson.

Did you see the uniform he was forced to wear ??? Black pants and white top ??? Montana, Marino, Elway... Not even Brady could win in that disaster of a uni.  You cant play great unless you look great.  You guys are all washed up on ZW.  It's the uniform !

It's not the uniform.  It's the fans' negativity!

I figured the 7 of you that are still out there need a thread dedicated to your delusion. Come on in and talk amongst your echo chamber.

Talk about the offensive line, coordinator, field turf, wind, receivers, or hard defenses. Pick your poison this week.

I promise you wont be picked on....

...

..

I swear. Really. I do.

Great idea, JT. Summon them all in one place so we know who to fire into the sun.

You cannot bench Zach now.

(Yes..you can)

Say what you will about the team winning despite him- but he got you here.

(No. He didnt on his own shoulders)

White has not put anything on tape or on his resume that justifies trotting him out there.

(Bengals game)

If Zach had a true melt-down against the Pats, sure, I could understand that. But he didn't.

(Yes, he did. Twice now. Your definition of meltdown is just lacking)

You say its mental and he needs to sit to re-calibrate but I don't buy that.

(You're wrong, it is mental AND he cant do)

He just had a great, controlled, smart, efficient game where he showed good decision making against a stellar defense and one of the best teams in the NFL (Bills).

(That was the previous game, and they won because the D put the clamps on a top 2 offense/top 2 QB)

How quickly we forget. How could it be this mental block that forces him to the bench for White of all people- a guy who has thrown multiple INTs in every game he has started for the Jets

(White also throws multiple TDs in a game, something Zach cant do)

when Zach just in his last game had no mental block and played great to beat a great team.

(Again, didnt play great, he played OK in that game, and that's being generous)

Bottom line, he had a bad game,

(Bad career)

the conditions were tough

(Not for Mac Jones who was in the EXACT same conditions, with worse talent around him)

BB outcoached us- AGAIN. But Zach is the best we got right now (which yes, is bad),

(No. He is not, this is false by every statistical metric)

he needs to pick himself up, brush himself off, move on to the Bears and get a W. The Jets CS are committed to him for the rest of this season.

(That's their doom)

The only thing that will land Zach on the bench is him completely melting down or the team completely melting down.

(The gauge for this is at critical mass as we speak)

A point by point breakdown in bold of the most false statements I have ever read in a single long winded paragraph.

Good analogy. Except it’s not only about accuracy. It’s about recognition and decision making…so, he doesn’t even know which clubs to use?

lol - great ball striker,,,, on the range...w/ mats.  lol  He turns everyone's head!  Then he tee's it up and has water on the right the entire way down the fairway. and he blast one into the the pond like he was trying too, take a breakfast ball, does it again, so he drops much closer than he went in, naturally and chunks one 10 feet in front him, slaps it around a few more times before he gives himself a 4 foot putt and calls it a bogey.

For the record, i don't care who is our QB. Th devil himself could be the starter. I have no dog in this fight.

Someone posted the following and i agree wholeheartedly:

The kid has a long long way to go. But Jets fans wonder why they can’t find a franchise QB…it’s because after a couple years they lose their minds and turn on the QB. It takes time.

And let’s face it BB knows how to deal with young QBs

I agree with this.  Give ZW the 7 games to show us something.

Since I think the Jets mathematically made it implausible they are going to make the playoffs, even if they win 10 games, then I'm good to go with this.

Lets see, Bears, Lions, Vikings all have plenty of video to analyze. They know they don't have to beat Zach, they just have to figure out a way to beat our defense. What was it that Green Bay did wrong?

Seattle should be interesting. So will Jacksonville.

Then of course the second match up with the Bills and Dolphins.

Plenty of intrigue in all of those games.

I think that’s the worst plan. They should let Zach finish out the season as the starter and see if he puts anything on tape that they are comfortable going into next year with him as their QB. But if these last 7 games are bad then you just need to move on all together

Correct. The plan was always for this year to figure out  if Wilson is or not a viable option at QB. Finish the plan. If you now decide to move on from Wilson, then that is it. There is no going back to Wilson in 2023. If we move now, it is forever and we are QB shopping in the offseason.

That was the plan going into the season.  But that was before we realized how good our defense was.  Now it stinks that we might end up having to punt on this season.  Would love for this team to just sneak into postseason as the last wildcard and see if we can make noise.

Is it too hard to ask Wilson in his 2nd season to not perform like the worst QB in the league? The dude can't even complete a screen pass and Flacco still has passing touchdowns on the season than Wilson does.

We lose our minds because it's clear the QB doesn't have it.
