Saleh is starting Mike White because Joe the plumber from Queens is calling WFAN and saying that Mike White should start? It's ridiculous. Saleh is starting Mike White because Zach Wilson is failing miserably as a quarterback in the NFL. His numbers are terrible and speak for themselves. Literally every quarterback the Jets have started since 2021 under Mike LaFleur (Joe Flacco, Mike White, Josh Johnson) has outperformed Zach Wilson by a large margin. Stop the theatrics. If you look at Zach Wilson objectively, you see a quarterback that is the physically gifted but mentally broken. He isn't seeing the field well, and he's processing things on the field in real time at an excruciating slow pace. It's simply unacceptable and has lead to "last in the league" rankings in basically every meaningful metric out there. The Jets don't need to give Zach Wilson more time to see if he is the future. His time was this season, and he failed on multiple fronts (getting injured in preseason and greatly underperforming in his return as starter for seven games). We have all seen how this offense functions when anyone other than Zach Wilson is running it. Enough excuses. Darnold has been horrible since the Jets let him go. And there is no way in the world the Jets pass on a QB in May 2021 with the idea that Mike White would be the starter. His game on Sunday was phenomenal, and if that were Zach Wilson, he would be appropriately glorified. But Mike White isn't given the same accolades because he was the 5th round pick. For now, I'm going to enjoy Mike White, and hope like hell he is "the one." But that doesn't mean I'm giving up on Zach Wilson... IMO, the Jets have a great problem at the QB position. Says the Jets are better in totality than the Vikings. (This is probably his way of saying "I think they'll win, but not because of Mike White").
