Sonny Werblin
3 in 10 games! How is that possible for a D that us this good? It is the last piece of the puzzle for the D. They really need to work on fumble awareness and diving ion he ball. I feel like there have been multiple instances of players not realizing the ball was out or running to the ball (to pick it up maybe?) rather than just diving on it.

I use to run a drill once a week in practice to try to be more ready for it- threw the ball in all different ways and directions to try to simulate odd bounces. Did it help? Not sure- it is an odd shaped ball. But I have definitely noticed what everyone else has, very frustrating how the ball never seems to bounce their way. Two strip sacks on Josh Allen and didn’t get either, seems every week they miss out.?♂️

I'm actually surprised to read we've recovered 3. Feels like we've seen 20 fumbles and not recovered a single one.
Popular Post LSJF
Seems like they try to scoop it up and run… As opposed just falling on it… there was one right in front of Reed and he didn’t move…. on a sidenote how long before this thread turns into Zach sucks thread… it’s mandatory, because we don’t know that already 1
Popular Post dbatesman
The good news is, fumble recoveries are random, so this is long overdue to regress. But until it does, it is ******* maddening.
frankiepapa
They say that's the way the ball bounces, but our luck sucks... this past week one of Mann's 700 punts actually bounced off the punt returners helmet and goes out of bounds...Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk

slimjasi
It feels like we have been bad at fumble recoveries my entire fandom.
Sonny Werblin
You’d think a team near the top at QB hits would recover a few QB fumbles. They are so improbably bad at something that is potentially game altering.

ChewyandtheJets
What’s even more incredible is that on least a few occasions we had like 4 guys around the ball to one for the opponent and somehow they came away with it. ?
ACourseinMiracles
Any stats on the rest of the league? This is kind of useless without context. Is 3 of 10 low? Average? Actually high percentage of recovery? I do believe our turnover differential is rather good this year. Certainly miles over years past. Irish Jet
The Reed and Mosley non-fumble recoveries in the past two weeks were actually unbelievable. I swear they were on the ball and it teleported away.
rangerous
on the other hand they have quite a few ints. i think the bigger stat is the turnover ratio. i think the jets are solidly on the plus side.

Our INT takeaway rate this year is night and day vs. last year. Last year was putrid. Our overall giveaway rate seems to be far lower than last year, though I haven't looked at stats to back this up. Possibly a knock-on effect of our run-heavy approach earlier this year; also having Zach throw it away and not fumble / throw stupid passes that get picked off has played a part. (Thank you Zach Wilson, thank you )
