Schefter: Zach Not Starting Sunday, White to Start

I like this move by Saleh.  Being decisive.  I was never a fan of the half-assed, give him one more game approach.  Either he is your starting QB or he isn't.  As of now he isn't. 

Not a big fan of Mike White or Joe Flacco, but I will be on Sunday.  With games in Minnesota and Buffalo coimng up, we need this win desparately this weekend, or playoff hopes could fade quickly.

Now we will see if he is salvageable. If the staff can coach him up we have a shot with him otherwise it will be a waste of arm talent.

that was because earlier they thought they could get White some snaps to see about him for next year.

this is all about making the playoffs and i dont think they're going to trust White over Flacco. 

and no way in Hell is Streveler dressing and there sitting Flacco. if he doesnt start he is the backup.

Hes done. If you can't start him against one of the worst defenses in the league, after being 5-2 against a slew of very tough defenses, he is toast. There is no coming back from this. Likely means the players have turned on him and once that happens, no turning back.

This kid has Leaf and Rosen vibes from what is being said by his teammates... Can he be saved, of course, but it will require a change of attitude by him. My message for ZW if I were able to give him one.  Get pissed of, realize the areas you need to grow, pay attention and learn, and work harder then you ever have before between now and June and give yourself one last real chance to salvage things.

Don’t remember the exact quotes but at the beginning of the year he referenced him being a sb caliber player anc that he still performs to that level,

I don’t want Flacco to start but also remember Wilson and other receivers praised the way he threw to them in the preseason and camp.

The Jets laid out this plan weeks ago when they promoted White to #2 and called up Strev.  Wining the buffalo game delayed the plan by a week.

Mike White is your starter and Streveler is going to get a whole bunch of Wildcat snaps.  Mike Lafluer is about to show all of us how creative he really is.

His biggest problem is not his attitude, it's his performance. It's historically bad.

Jets finally run like a real organization.  You can't continue to trot out this crap QB during a playoff push.  If we were 4-6 then whatever.  We have a chance here to make the playoffs and it's clear now that Zach does not give us the best chance to do that.  Not sure if the other QBs do but we have to try.

They were ready to pull the plug during the bills game.  But the plan was altered as they won that game.

With Zach neutered, it's far easier for Saleh/LaFleur to make a QB switch during the game.  If White sucks, Flacco comes in without it being a big deal...

End of the day, I think we have an ever so slightly higher chance of winning with Flacco/White.

Long term, I think ZW is on the hot seat next spring and for the first few games of next year, b/c he wont survive another episode like this.  

This should be a lesson to the NFL.  Don’t start promising but raw recruits in their first few years.  Let them sit on the bench and learn.  Its just setting them up for failure.  There are many more Aaron Rogers than Josh Allens.

At this point based on what players have shown, the most important thing the team can do the rest of the season to build a long-term functional offense is protect their investment in Wilson and ensure he continues to develop.

It’s just Garrett Wilson, not Zach Wilson.
