Clown organization

Lets give the #2 pick to a first time OC and first time “QB coach”

You knew what you had in Wilson going into this year yet you didn’t bring a viable plan b QB

Zach Wilson should have been pulled last week with a chance to win the game

Benching him right before we finally play a cup cake defense, after facing the top 5 defenses in the NFL all in a row is complete bullsh*t

Making him inactive is a moronic move. Wilson needs to be practicing, engaged, getting better

Everything is so damn cryptic and political with this organization. This is a bunch of clueless coaches trying to save face

I agree with you on one point - the success of the team was likely not anticipated by JD and Saleh.  They figured this was going to be another growth year where the playoffs were out of reach.  The fact we went 6-3 and won some tough road games changed all that.  They've been scrambling a bit to adjust, and JD clearly deserves criticism for not investing in a strong plan B behind Zach.

It does beg the question though.

Why is he inactive?

Is it...

  • Zach refusing to play?
  • They don't think Zach is even back-up quality at this point?
  • They feel like Zach's head needs a week off?
  • The Locker Room doesn't want Zach even dressed?

I mean having him inactive is a strange choice here (at least IMO) I felt like he would be the two and if White got hurt Zach comes in.

What? Dude step away from the ledge. The first time oc had guys open for Zach every game this season. Not his fault Zach can't hit a pass withput throwing it 20 yard short or past

he is inactive because it would be counterproductive to say that he needs time away to work on sh*t, and then throw him into the game if someone got hurt. Saleh made it clear that they feel like its on its way going downhill right now and would get worse if he played.

It’s about him being engaged. Being made inactive is telling the player to **** off

If he isn't engaged in trying to reignite his NFL career and meet his potential after a benching the why you want him to be or even think he could be "the guy" eludes me.

If his response "Ok, I guess I'll **** off then", then please just let him **** off.

His response should be:

thats it.

if you dont trust Zach is good enough to start why would you want to bring him in at all.

this could be true too. if White gets hurt in the 1 qt your going to play the rest of the game with a QB the locker room doesnt want.

J.D did everything for Zack Wilson that they never did for Darnold. Surrounded him with talent. They gave him e ery opportunity to show them, that at least some of the flaws in his game from last year, have been improved on. Wilson failed the test. Not only last week, but every game he played this year for the Jets. If he wasn't the 2nd overall pick, he never would have started in the first place.
