Has any organization failed consecutively at the QB position as often as we have?

Each of those players were drafted where they should have been, except for Zach. They just busted. It happens.

With Zach, he should have had a 3rd round draft grade, just a ridiculous draft pick. That’s on Douglas. Thankfully he’s hit some home runs since then.

I don't think I saw one mock draft, or even player ranking for that draft that had ZW any lower than 12-15. 3rd round? What are you basing that on?

Busts don't just happen... Finding a QB is not luck, its knowing what you are doing. Good coaches know how to identify, develop and game plan around their QB's strengths and put them in positions to succeed. We have had bad coaches who don't know how to do that. I don't believe in luck

Clemens

Sanchez

Geno

Darnold

Wilson

5 consecutive 1st or 2nd round draft picks at the QB position without one success for the Jets. Has anyone else done this?

If you really want the stark reality the NYJ havent drafted a good QB in 40 years since Ken Obrien. A very good pro even with the Marino stigma attached.

Yeah thats right no love for the Penny.

The entire NFL had Wilson as a high first round draft pick. Stop.

Its probbaly true, and whats been the common denominator? Coaches who have zero idea of how to identify, develop and play to a QB's strengths.

Its not luck that Andy Reid was an integral part of Favre, McNabb and Mahomes. Its not luck that Vermeil had Jawarski and then Kurt Warner.

You want a good QB, get someone in the building who knows what the F they are doing at the QB position. Its that simple.

For all the Saleh and LaFleur defense, those two slobbered all over ZW and got the guy they wanted. Then they played him when he wasnt ready, and they kept him in with horrible footwork and not a clue of what he was doing.

Look at Gase, look at Rex, look at Bowles. None of these guys have a clue of the QB position. Yet everyones like well, were just unlucky. BS, luck has nothing to do with it

Amazing huh, Chiefs went all those years with bad QB draft/development, they bring in Andy Reid and boom, right away a hit.

There is nothing random about getting a good QB. Good coaches know how to identify, develop, and call games to QB's strengths. Bad coaches don't.

We have had bad QB's because we have had had bad coaches, its that simple

Id say we’ve had serviceable QBs that we ignored. Under REX no QB could succeed.   Imagine we drafted Gronk and not Kyle Wilson for Mark.  Kept Braylon and Cotch and cut Holmes.   But yes, to me, most important position on a team is GM.

Meh, hard disagree, Wilson is the only one of those guys w an elite skill set. He’s still a weak character kid w no set of balls. Will prob be good in 5-6 years if he gets another chance as a back up coming in for an injury

Yeah, it only took Geno 10+ years

But to be fair IF Darnold turns into something miraculous ... Then it cannot be denied that the possibility is there that it was too early ... As of now? Nah.
