Popular Post Greensleeves
Did everyone notice how Cousins was back pedaling a LOT against the Pats D? Same as Zach except he was able to look up and find guys open as he was moving away from the line of scrimmage. Pats D always seems to get a nice push up the middle and it's not just Zach that can't step up in the pocket. Cousins has more experience so he kept his composure and floated some balls to his open receivers off of his back foot. 5 1
Popular Post ScarletKnight89
Back pedaling isn't the end of the world if you can keep your eyes downfield and still hit open receivers. Zach has not shown he is able to do that. He melts when there is pressure. 10

derp
Cousins’ reputation is that he’s someone who’s awesome in a clean pocket but doesn’t do well when things break down. Wilson has been a highly exaggerated version of that this year. Not surprising he had similar problems to Wilson against the Pats. Different looking stat line than either of Wilson’s against NE though with 3 touchdowns, one pick, 299 yards, and one sack taken.

Helps when you have the best WR in the game right now to chuck it to right now. 4

Oh for sure, but I don’t think even Jefferson would make a meaningful difference for Wilson right now.

Yeah, would agree there for sure. Kirk Cousins looks like he throws some ugly ass balls, but they're generally accurate and well placed when it gets there, so whatever works. The key to this was Cousins completed the passes rather than sail them over the receivers heads constantly.

No it’s not. Simms is a hot take, these comparisons are pretty close to what the numbers say they are. It gets worse if we entertain the thought it’s easier to QB now than it was then. Joe W. Namath
There is 0 comparison btwn a qb who has a 240 td to 100int ratio. That is a hall of fame caliber ratio.

All againt the worst pass defence in the league in YPA.

THE BARON
After the snap and during the pass rush, Cousin's attention and reactive though process is focused on what he observed and processed before the snap. The play call, the way the defense was lining up and how that defensive set impacted the way the play call was going to develop from the moment the ball was snapped. Like all good NFL level QB's, Cousins starts throwing the ball before it is in his hands. When he was back-pedaling, he wasn't just running away. He was extending his ability to accomplish one of the possible resolutions that he already had in mind before the ball was in his hands. Then, he made his best choice based on what he saw and how much time he had, and he threw the ball. Which is to say, he completed a task based on logic, reasoning and observation while maintaining good fundamentals. Wilson runs away from the pressure and then ties to make something happen. He does not maintain observation of the field as the play is developing nor is there any habitual adherence to fundamentals. Condense it like this... Cousins is an NFL QB and ZW plays the position with the mindset of a schoolyard kid. No rocket science here.
Integrity28
Zach doesn’t backpedal, he turns and runs away. There’s like a HUGE difference.
