Smashmouth
So this ass hat is once again going to sit on his hands and do nothing DeGrom and Verlander gone . That being said this team needs contact hitters/Hitters for average more than pitchers and we will sit on our hands there too.

The Yankees are about winning playoff games vs the superior teams in the league and currently we are not built to do that. We have no contact hitters to set the table for our big hitters, we have completely abandoned small ball moving runners over in favor of the 3 run homer that never comes vs the better pitching staffs you face in the playoffs and its not going to the way our lineup is built and currently used. For the 100th time if you can't manufacture a run in the late innings of playoff games you can't win playoff games and the Yankees can't. This team is in dire need of some contact hitters in the 1 and 2 slots who can set the table. They need to stop this metric bullsh*t of making Judge Bat first or second and they need to learn how to move runners over by hitting behind them and not swinging for the fences and striking out at an alarming rate. The writing has been on the wall for years the Yankees need to add some real hitters that can hit for average and make contact in big situations they have been available and Brian Cashman has just let them go to other teams. This is a GM with money available he can't help other than to make the playoffs the question is and has always been can you build a team that can win in the playoffs and the answers over the last 22 years with 1 World Series is NO.

The playoffs are WAY too long at this point.

And if it wasn’t for Stick Michaels draft picks the Yankees would have probably missed the playoffs last several years
Leftylarry
Look, the Yankee story is pretty clear, Cashman is not a good GM, a decent businessman though and just a guy likeable to the press and some fans but truthfully , as bad as Cashman has been, one of the Yankees biggest problems is they refuse to tank a season or two and rebuild. Thats how you find the very, very top young prospects , along with smart International spending and decent player development. If you want to spend and make the playoffs every year, it’s harder to build a championship team, Yankees found Judge in the #20 area because he was huge and had question marks and I believe they stole Spencer Jones also last season for the same reasons and frankly, the farm system is fairly loaded , considering where they pick every season. had DJ, who was quite hot when injured, seemingly finally 100% back from the hernia stayed heathy along with Carpenter and Benentendi, who was heating up also, that’s three contact hitters and it’s a totally different line up in the playoffs but that’s life.
