“Douglas was high on White after evaluating him before the 2018 draft while working in the Philadelphia Eagles' front office. He knew White as a productive college player with strong intangibles. What impressed him the most was how he threw for 4,177 yards, with 26 touchdown passes and eight interceptions at Western Kentucky, even though some of his best players from the year before had graduated.

Douglas brought that intel to the Jets, who had similarly strong scouting reports on White. Pro personnel director Greg Nejmeh also rated him as a priority player on his list of available developmental quarterbacks. At that point, the Jets were happy with the Darnold-Siemian-Falk troika but received the mono news one day after White's tryout.“

Love JD but here’s the smart ass remark

” so high on him, he gave up an asset to get joe Flacco with Mike white waiting in the wings”

they needed another QB when Zach got hurt. White was the starter remember the Bengals game? Flacco only started the Dolphins game cause White got hurt.

we see now how JD operates. if there is an injury he acts quick to get someone. Becton-Brown, Wilson-Flacco, Hall-Johnson. are we going to complain about the 6th rd pick it cost for Johnson who probably wont play much. i rather have him be pro-active than not.

imagine if Bam Knight didnt work out and he passed up the chance to get Johnson for a 6th rd pick. same with White and Flacco. you guys would be complaining about that. there 6th rd picks. worth the chance.

Flacco was brought in to start when wilson went down last year, only reason White started was because he wasn’t up to speed yet on the playbook
