His teammates truly love him

Good teammates have their QB's back.

Regardless of who the QB is.

I'm glad to see the team rally around White.

But they did the same for Wilson in the past as well.

Not saying they may not prefer White at current, but I think too much is made of this stuff.

Pro players mostly say pro player things, until things get really horrid, as they did with Wilson at the end of his last stint.

the recent athletica piece also highlights how well liked he is in the locker room.

it's a different kind of being liked.  seems more real.

i think i signed up for athletica for $1 (or $2) a month.  it's good for a couple of articles a week.  if you can swing another subscription financially it's worth it.

Why?

This stuff is way over the top, every one and their dog having mike white t-shrts like 3 seconds after the other guy get benched.

To me you build loyalty and trust over time.  What happens if the jets lose their next three games.

Where were the We heart joe flacco tshirts?

If White played great and got the jets to the playoffs fine but at this point he is a career 2-3 QB with 8 tds an 10 ints in the NFL

White is not yet been determined to be the savior. Coming up a bit bigger in the Vikings game would have been a good first step, and while he didn't play horrible, he was not good enough to produce the win. He needs to beat the Bills, then continue to prove it every game going forward and give this team the best chance at QB to win. What he is at this point is the person that JD and Saleh are hoping that WIlson becomes to his teammates. I"m guessing they are hoping he's paying attention to how White handles himself, and how he plays on the field. That said, Wilson is not the savior either unless he can show he's worked on how he process his field awareness and vision. He must work on his poor mechanics to deliver the ball in stride. He must make throws with more decisiveness and accuracy for him to even win his job back. That will take all of this season and the off season of work and preparation.

I mean, one of the more sure-handed WRs having both hands on the football, and the football being in his gut, for the go-ahead TD suggests he was "good enough to produce the win", no?

Amazing how different the narrative on White would be right now if Berrios had hung onto that one.

I get it, but he also had chances to produce the win instead of 5 FG's in a row. Believe me, I like the kid, he plays the way I WISHED Wilson did. I'm no longer on the Wilson train, because I believe he's got major flaws, I'm just saying that I'm not completely sold on MW yet. Like him alot, but he has more to get me on board 100%.

The Jet players are falling for it just like the fans are.  And what is 'it'?  The notion that Mike White is really good.  Next to how well Wilson was playing White looks amazing so far to them but he's still a jag.  People need to pump the brakes.

ill take a jag over zachenberg

JD can correct the QB position after the season

Amen. We need sustained success, not a game here and a game there.

What decision should be made that isn't being made right now in the aim of "sustained success"?

Is the players having fun a problem for long-term sustained success?

And can we get to long-term sustained success without first getting to success in the here and now?
