No.

Lose to Lions.  Lose to Seahawks.  Lose to Dolphins.

Finish 8-9 and out.

Not happy about it in any way, shape or form, but it's how I see this playing out.

Too much attrition, too many injuries, too many missed opportunities (both Pats games, Vikings game).

I’m usually right there with you in this type of thinking, but not now.

I expected us to lose both NE games and the Minnesota and Buffalo game.

For whatever reason I see us winning out.

If Q is playing I think they win the next three.

Lions offense is good but they won’t put 20+ on the Jets D. Lions defense other than Hutchinson is not good.

Jags are getting better but they will also struggle against the Jets D

Seattle has no running game now. Basically it is Geno, Lockett and Metcalf.

I could probably make an argument for winning in Miami as well considering the way they playing right now

Yes, I think they win out or at 3 of the last 4.  Jets match up ridiculously well vs. the next 4 teams they play.

Well, actually, I dont know, they dont control their own destiny now right?  So maybe this happens but they still miss? Prob not if they win out though, maybe? idk

Long time Jet fan. I’ve seen and lived through all the misery, so my natural disposition for anything relating to this team is doom and gloom.

However…a big reason for my belief now (I assumed we threw away our playoff chances with that punt return in Gillette Stadium) is how the team responded in Buffalo (a game in which I thought we’d get lanced to the tune of 41-6).

I thought Minnesota was our last shot and the way we lost I figured out soul crushing and they’ll pack it in.

Down in Buffalo, cold, snowy, our QB gets annihilated…ok that’s it, packing it in. Nope kept fighting, QB comes out locker room. No we didn’t win but we took it to the end.

Post game matters, quotes, body language, and spirits are high in the locker room. This team believes they can hang with anyone.

I think we are more dangerous than we realize. Again I reiterate…I never feel this positive about the NYJ. Maybe I’m proven wrong but I really don’t think so.

Starting Flacco weeks 1 and 3 cost us the H2H tiebreaker with BAL and CIN

No guarantee MW wins those games obviously, but at least it would have given the team a chance

Would really suck if the ZW management strategy costs them a playoff berth

They started Flacco because they knew MW was better and wanted to a pretext to be able to go back to Zach without creating a controversy

Nope. Jets have shown so far they are good at beating teams with bad offenses and good defenses, but they struggle against teams with good offenses and bad defenses.

Last 4 games: Detriot (Really good offense) Jacksonville (Depends on if TL has figured it out, but it seems to be that way), Seattle (Good offense), Miami (Good offense)

8-9 finish wouldn't surprise me. 9-8 is also likely but in this conference 10-7 is the minimum most likely.

This isn’t even true.  Mike had a bad camp.  The beat asked Saleh “we saw in camp, did he make a jump the last couple weeks” and got a yes from Saleh.

Losing 6 out of our last 8 would be horrible and a major problem moving forward.  You can point to all the young talent we have, but injuries will happen again next year and the year after that.  Playoffs would not be guaranteed next year simply because Breece Hall and AVT are healthy.  CS would have A LOT of explaining to do, primarily regarding Zach Wilson and Mike LaFleur.

We are currently sitting out of the playoffs because of this CS's cuteness regarding the QB position.  If this team collapses and ends with a losing record I don't think anyone should view it as a glass half full situation.  It would be bad.  Hoping this does not happen.

This is an interesting take - I sort of feel the opposite.

I think the jets matchup well with teams that rely heavily on passing the ball and have played good passing offenses well all season. Two of our losses were to the pats (good defense, bad offense), two were close losses to the Vikings and Bills, and two were with Joe Flacco playing QB.

I honestly like most of the matchups we have left.

You make a good point. I've just seen all season (And the season before too) that the Jets play their best ball in the 4th quarter, and against bad offenses that might be fine because they don't score, but against good ones the Jets get into things like that 20-6 hole against Minnesota.

With the Patriots games you make a good point though. If the offense is struggling to score anyways then maybe it's more about if the defense is better.
