Brian DaBoll Or Robert Saleh?

this will be good last few games test for Saleh even if they fall out of playoffs.  How he handles the adversity.

I been wonder how far Duane Brown will play if eliminated from playoffs.  If he gives in to shoulder issue and Fant's knee keeps hurting Jets will be in a world of pain worse than any point in season.

If they start losing out will team keep playing for him?

The Jets have way more talent.  Daboll has done an incredible job with a bad roster.   Saleh has done a good job with a very good roster.

If we did take Daboll I wonder if we take Zach with the 2 and  if we did he would have had a better chance to succeed?  On the other hand our D might be very different.

No right answer here.  It looks like both Saleh and Daboll will be really good.

Are we just going to ignore that while we *may* have more talent, it is also very young and inexperienced talent?

That matters... a LOT!

Saleh is doing what he's doing with youth and inexperience all over especially at the most important position at QB as these guys develop and mature.

Daboll has the benefit of having older more experienced players who are playing better.

This.

Who knows what our team would look like with Daboll. JD drafts based on his coaching staff’s prefered playing style. So maybe we dont go Sauce or maybe we go Lance or Fields or stay with Darnold.

Both are good coaches. I’d be happy with either one.

I thought the "Dabol is coach of the year" narrative in October seemed over the top, but since the Jets and Giants play at the same time so often, I have not seen a lot of the Giants. I'll have to take everyone's word that he's good.

Having watched the Jets however, I'm quite happy with Mr. Saleh.

Lot of solid responses. I'm all the way bought in Saleh by the way as I am with anyone we sign, draft, etc. Biggest difference to me is obviously the ability to develop a QB. That nod goes to DaBoll BUT Robert Saleh has an offense playing way above where we probably should after starting 7 different tackles, Corey Davis being in and out of the lineup, Elijah Moore/Denzel Mims drama, and trying figuring out his safety and defensive line rotation issues. He's attacked so many different areas that should have been a season long issue and made us feel confident in where we are going.

P.S. I love his quotables maybe a little more than anything else. "We just felt like if we keep dragging them deeper into the water they would realize that they can't swim" ???

The Bucs aren't  making the playoffs. They are terrible. They made the last player taken in the draft look like the second coming of Montana.

Sure, but that’s not the point of my post.  “Currently” was the argument made to which I replied that “currently” the Bucs are in the playoffs if the season ended today.

When we carefully combing through heach coach candidates we ultimately decided Robert Saleh was our guy and it's looking like we finally have our guy to get us to the playoffs and in the next year or two a super bowl. What if we selected Giants head coach Brian DaBoll instead? Didn't want to get too indepth with this right off the bat but the Giants have seen a career revival with QB Daniel Jones where Robert Saleh has led a defensive revival and a competent offense most week. Would you have taken Brian DaBoll and him molding QB Zach Wilson to greatness behind a dominant offense or would you double down with Robert Saleh and the elite defense he's created?

Robert Saleh

Offense: Ranked 22nd

Defense: Ranked 5th

Offensive DVOA: 19th

Defensive DVOA: 6th

Brian DaBoll

Offense: Ranked 20th

Defense: Ranked 20th

Offensive DVOA: 14th

Defensive DVOA: 29th

Shouldn't you be comparing Salehs stats from last year to Deboll's stats this year. How can you compare Deboll's rookie year to Saleh's second year?

There QB situation was more screwed up than ours at the begining of the season.  Jones was a complete bust through 3 years.   The average age of our roster is 25.68 the Giants roster is 25.7.

Douglas has had 3 drafts and 3 FA periods.  This is the first year draft under the Giants new GM and HC.

I view that as at best a push maybe a slight positive for the Jets since this  is year 2 in the system for most of the Jets players vs. year 1.

I have no issue with Saleh, I think he's doing well.  I'm still on the fence on LeFleur.  Again I think both of these HC bring a lot to the table.

Good point. It's worth noting that DaBoll has exceeded expectations right out of the gate where Saleh was doing damage control all over the place.

The media adores Daboll because the media is like 70% Ny area Giants fans

hes done a good job this year but he mostly looks brilliant because Joe Judge was such an unmitigated disaster. It’s like when Parcells took over for Dick Kotite. Parcells trades Hugh Douglas for nothing, tells Peyton Manning to go away, and benched O’Donnell with the playoffs on the line in favor of Foley and Ray Lucas and Leon Johnson yet he looked great because he replaced a complete nincumpoop

I really hope Douglas is what we’ve seen after the Zach pick. It’s hard to overcome drafting the biggest bust in franchise history but he’s been money since then.

I agree with the Wilson pick - and honestly I still don't know how bad of a pick it was.  As I said many other times in other posts - Wilson has the Physical talent to be a fantastic QB.  With that being said, his head is so far up his ass I don't know if he will ever be able to pull it out.  White's my guy until he proves he cant be the guy.
