This is a fun conspiracy, but falls apart if you listen to Saleh's press conference where he detailed how Mike White got outside opinions from multiple doctors outside the Jets medical staff, none of whom would clear him for contact. Unless you think Saleh was lying about that.

Yes, I think Saleh was lying about that.

Remember when people downplayed MW’s performance against Chicago because “not a real NFL defense?”

Chicago: #11 in passing yards allowed per game

Detroit: #29

Remeber when Chicago traded away there defense right before the trading deadline.  Since than there D has allowed an average of 33.5 per and lost 6 consecutive games.  The Bears D is atrocious.

It kind of feels like they’re punting on the playoffs after the last two losses. Unless Wilson completely bombs, like New England level bad, I can’t see White seeing the field again unless he gets hurt.

Completely idiotic if so. If Miami loses to Buffalo this week and the Jets win, they're back in a playoff spot.

This is the exact way I read the situation. Maybe I am crazy but I think we have a better chance to win with Zach than with White.  He should have been benched after the NE game but all 3 of his really bad games were against NE...not like he was that great outside of NE games but he was not really turnover prone and Zach was pretty clutch in a lot of situations that went entirely unnoticed

Personally, I think in the current situation, Zach could give us a better chance to win this Sunday. 1) Mike White was going to be limited; we can argue over that but he would be extremely foolish not to protect the injury more. 2) Detroit absolutely would've used it as a means to call for certain rush packages that would force White to move, which limits him even more.

The one thing that Zach provides that White doesn't is the mobility, and because of it I do think they will re-incorporate pocket movement and more effectiveness in the outside-stretch run game, which is an underrated aspect to all of this. They don't want Zach to be a chicken without a head or passing up easy completions in favor of letting plays develop, but they are extremely aware that he can avoid pressure in ways others cannot.

That is if you actually believe that they are more concerned with that situation than they are admitting they got it wrong with the 2nd overall pick, which I don’t.

I heard the docs who refused to clear White are based in the basement of a pizza shop in Washington D.C. that is owned by Hillary Clinton.

True story

We are talking a matter of degrees here. But the pre-excuses are touching.

Like running 10 yards back and 15 yds to the right only to throw an Int type of mobility?

The only thing they should do with Zach is to scheme about 10 comp to RBs and about 5 screens to WRs. If he has to think past that the Jets are in big trouble.

Yes, I think Saleh was lying about that.

Would be an incredibly dumb thing to lie about for multiple reasons, but if so then yes, Mike White will and should sign elsewhere next year. I’d imagine we would find out relatively quickly if that was the case.

Everyone who keeps saying that if Wilson plays bad this week that he's done hasn't been paying attention at all. The Jets front office cares about one thing being right. This isn't about winning and its certainly not about putting the best player on the field. It's about saving face. I thought JD was smarter than this but he's just another guy in a long line of idiots who thinks they know better than everyone else. I thought he'd admit his mistake and move on but unfortunately that's not the case and we'll most likely have the worst starting QB in the NFL starting for us again next year. There is no way they move on from Wilson before the end of next year.

Who should start this week?  Joe Flacco, Steveler?  Zach is the best option with MW on the shelf.  It's not even debatable.

Check these blitzes that came right up the middle like the one that took MFW out.

I'm not a conspiracy guy but I have to say that this is all very coincidental. Wilson gets elevated,  @football guyis saying that this was the week they wanted Zach to come back and play,  the doctors cleared White for practice and Saleh and White have been talking about how they both think White will play on Sunday. Now on Friday, the doctors don't clear White to play.

It sounds as though the front office, who always thought of Wilson not playing as a temporary thing, saw their opportunity to convince the doctor to tell White he needed some time to heal in order to get Wilson back into the lineup.

The front office NEVER wanted to bench Wilson, Saleh did and the owner made the final call. JD probably spoke to Saleh, talked him into going along with this plan in order to see what they have with Zach. The Jets could not replace White with Wilson without the injury excuse for many reasons. The front office is willing to tank the season in order to attempt to save face. The longest playoff drought in the NFL is going to continue bc of JD's pride. Way to go.

Zach Wilson will be the downfall of this coaching staff and JD. Wouldn’t be surprised if they quit, that’s the next boulder to fall on our heads.

Zach Wilson is the worst starting QB in the NFL. I don't think Flacco or Streveler could possibly be worse than Wilson.

What excuses?  You made a really dumb comment trying to make Chicago's D look like the 85 Bears.  There D stinks the team has been in full tank mode since the Dallas game.

Robert Saleh lies a lot in service of the org. He lied last year saying he was benching White against the Dolphins defense because it was “too complex” even though the Dolphins pass defense was ranked like 26th. **** this gutless staff. Woody Johnson’s preemie son runs the franchise.

There’s no way Saleh isn’t telling himself that the didn’t sign up for this. The league knows this is what the Jets are about though.

The Jets are already in trouble because he can’t even do those things correctly.

Not sure why seeing hysterics.. Yeah Zach sucked this year but he's never been humbled like he has the last month.

The best chance for sustained success for the Jets is him to reach his potential.  He was always getting another chance even if I thought it would be next season.

Hopefully Zippy has learned his lesson and is ready to go.

Oh I'm sure he lies to the press a lot. This would be an asinine thing to lie about. Do you think Mike White wouldn't refute it, either publicly or through a leak?

Based off what? His NFL worst QB rating? or his 5-2 record with the soon to be offensive rookie of the year RB barring injury {Breece Hall}?

Being put in timeout for 3 weeks doesn’t magically fix a lifetime of mistakes.
