Zach Wilson is the worst starting QB in the NFL. I don't think Flacco or Streveler could possibly be worse than Wilson.

Zach isn't the Jets starting QB.  Mike White is.  Zach Wilson is the best backup option on the NY Jets.  You'de have to be a moron not to know that after watching Flacco last week.

Woody wants to win, I'm not sure he really cares who the QB is. It's the front office who wants Wilson to play.

Woody cares about money. If ZW faills and MW heavily succeeds, he is going to have to pay a lot of money to both of them.

There’s no way Saleh isn’t telling himself that the didn’t sign up for this. The league knows this is what the Jets are about though.

Should have known when I heard the Steve Young interview where he killed White and attributed all of Zach’s problems to the one answer to Hughes. The only way they were getting White out of the lineup was through injury, so they invented an injury. Absolute pussy sh*t.

Robert Saleh lies a lot in service of the org. He lied last year saying he was benching White against the Dolphins defense because it was “too complex” even though the Dolphins pass defense was ranked like 26th. **** this gutless staff. Woody Johnson’s preemie son runs the franchise.

Herbert played through fractured rib cartilage.  Didn't miss a start.

Saleh clearly has his wits about him in terms of football politics.  He's calculated and measured in everything he says.

He reports to Douglas, and Douglas isn't ready to be panned for whiffing on a #2 overall pick QB.

Mike White is going to speak with the media at some point this weekend and will surely tell the world himself what happened

And he will tow the company line like the professional that he is.  His actions (whether or not he re-signs here) will speak louder than his words.

Anyone hoping/thinking Wilson magically became a good QB in a couple of weeks?

This whole thing is going to blow up in their faces.  Saleh said repeatedly, "The goal is to get Zach back out their this season."

Well, that's what's happening.  It's been a month.  If Zach comes out and shows that he hasn't fixed much, their plan was an abject failure.  If so, Zach will have not improved one bit after roughly 2 seasons.  He'll most likely stick around next year but if he struggles these final game(s) it should be made ABUNDANTLY CLEAR by the CS & FO that Zach is not the future.

The Johnson’s don’t care about winning. At my wits end with this one. It’s just such obvious BS. Wilson better go for 300 and 3.

Wilson can go 150 with two INTs and the org will still pretend it was “progress.” It works. Just look at the fanbase.

Wasn't that the plan this year.  See if Zach could be the guy.   Not sure what the complaint is?

Who's ready for 150 yards passing and pirouettes?

All kidding aside, I genuinely hope this multi-week reset for Zach was beneficial. Sunday's game against the Lions and most likely the rest of the games this season are must wins if the team wants to secure a playoff spot.

Zach was not seeing the field well and very slow through his progressions when things fell apart for him. A little time off can help, and let's all hope it did in this case.

What excuses?  You made a really dumb comment trying to make Chicago's D look like the 85 Bears.  Their D stinks the team has been in full tank mode since the Dallas game.

I posted an official statistic but I can understand why you view that as an existential threat. No need for reductio ad absurdum, however.

The fact that he said it *this week* before the Bills game is sick. The sideline reporter chick said Saleh was committed to getting Zach back on the field.

Not that the Jets care, but the optics of this are bad

MW was asked yesterday if he'd be ready to go vs Detroit and he basically said "yeah 100%"

I guess Saleh broke the news to him last night or this morning

Reductio ad absurdum = you lose

What was your point?  Are you Dick riding MW, piling on the ZW?  Now you want to double down.  Make your point.  Don't get made for pretending Chicago has a good defense and getting a response.

Because karma is a b*tch, and this franchise deserves everything that they do to themselves.

dude, you are a young guy.  it's not too late to switch teams :-)

I would guess that if the Jets want MW they will be able to beat any offer on the table.  If MW wants to go elsewhere, not much they can do.

to me, they did good by developing MW.

Because we already know with a reasonable degree of certaintude. There isn’t even “but he’s such a good kid and likeable guy that his teammates love” to fall back on.

He doesn’t need to be a hero, he just needs to show he understands what is required of him.  Get the ball to the playmakers, follow the script.

So basically operate like a journeyman.… That we acquired for the #2 overall.

Got it

it's comical these guys.   it's almost like they live to complain about anything.

btw, thanks for the detailed post on the background of all this drama.  Good to hear from someone inside.

Being put in timeout for 3 weeks doesn’t magically fix a lifetime of mistakes.

I'm not a Zip fan but this is a little much..  He was the concensus 2nd best QB last year for a reason.

I think a lot of his problem is he was and perhaps still is kind of a conceited dick.

3 weeks is enough time to absorb the fact you're acting like a dick and not too many people like you.  Just ask @T0mShane

Why though? I can’t imagine Saleh is that tied up in Wilson that he’d rather take the chance and risk missing the playoffs if Wilson implodes.

I also tend to think Saleh is the type of guy who would play the best player at the position, especially when when that guy just went out there and risked his well-being for a chance at a win. Maybe I’m being naive, but I think there is a legit change that White is at risk for permanent damage if he plays on Sunday, which is why they are holding him back
