So tell me how he got cleared to come back in the game last week? Lol

Rich Cimini @RichCimini

Question: Why was White cleared to return to BUF game, but not cleared this wk? Routine X-ray (in-game) doesn't always reveal fractures. The post-game CT scan, and/or subsequent testing, revealed injury, per source. Likely an occult (hidden) fracture, per independent doc

Spoke to a doctor (not affiliated with Jets) who says placement of fracture will determine how long he's out. If there's concern that another hit could cause internal damage, it's a 3-5 week injury, per doctor.

Jets actually let this kid play with a broken rib in Buffalo. I would not be surprised if the NFLPA initiated an investigation into the Jets handling of Mike White's injury evaluation during the Bills game.

I had the same thought but it will come down to who knew what and will talk. It probably is true that it didn’t show but yeah wow if they knew

Yup...Saleh would prefer risking MW's life than watching Joe Flacco attempt another pass.

The entire Jets' medical staff should be swept to the curb.  There are many, many examples of this.

With potentially another strong draft, the Jets cannot enter 2023 with Zach Wilson the only real QB.  Thinking that Flacco could do it was a delusion.

The NFLPA should be more concerned that there were no flags thrown on any of those hits.  Refs not protecting QBs is bad for business and union members.

It's ZW's team again.  Likely for the rest  of the year because, even if we make the playoffs, they're not going to switch to a rusty MW.

And since MW is a FA this offseason there's a real chance he's taken his last snap as QB of the NYJ.  It was a beautiful tenure he had here.  A lot was left on the table, of course.  But such is the tragedy that is the NYJ.

If it’s ZW’s team, we’re in serious ******* trouble.

Also Mike White has only proven one thing his entire NFL playing career.  He can’t stay healthy for more then 1 or 2 games.  Unfortunately that alone right now excludes handing him next years starting job no matter what happens rest of way.

Zach Wilson has missed more games than Mike White. What are you talking about?

he's also played a lot more. MW gets injured every time he steps on the field and JD won't go into 2023 with a guy who can't stay healthy as his projected starter. It's not much about ZW, it's more about MW and the unfortunate facts of the matter.

I think this is bad on two fronts. First of course is we don't  get the evaluation of Mike White that we wanted. Having these next 4 games would have helped a lot in a decision  to retain him or look for a vet.

The other is, Zach comes back as the undisputed starter. There is no pressure on him to perform.at a high level. He is going to start no matter what.

Mike White has gotten injured in 4 of his 6 starts.

Now, with Zach, he's injured the same knee twice, so you could argue that he's just as much of a gamble going forward because he might just have a bad knee. But, consider this: If Mike White never gets hurt in the Colts game last year, maybe he turns his excellent first drive into another excellent overall game and never looks back as the starter? Even if he goes on to bomb against the Bills as he did, maybe TWO great starts (instead of just one) are enough for him to keep the job for the remainder of the year? We'll never know but it's interesting to think about.

The biggest barrier to Mike White being our future is that he's hurt . . . again

Lets be honest.  These were solid nfl hits but nothing more.  Ive seen guys like Ben Roethlisberger take hits like this all season long and he would pop right up and onto the next play.

White took a hit in the Vikings game and was down for a minute or so.  It sucks but it is what it is.

Burrow is another guy I have seen take multiple shots like that in a game and he just brushed it off.  Again these are solid nfl hits but nothing more.  It wasnt like he was piledriven into the ground or anything.

As of now, White is brittle and cant take an nfl pounding.

I was sitting on my couch and knew his ribs were broken after the Milano hit. What was the medical staff thinking?

Whatever they were thinking it obviously was a secret.

Dont they have that flack jacket anymore? He wasn’t even wearing protection when he came back in
