That was embarrassing from the coaches

Say whatever you want about Wilson, I won’t argue with you.  He stinks and it’s no secret.  He’s got no future here.

But to get outwitted by Dan Campbell on 4th and inches, when they’ve had zero explosive plays all game, is downright embarrassing.  That play is the one thing you should be looking for. They were down to 1 timeout and had 50 some yards to go with zero explosive ability l.  Just unreal you are selling out to stack the run in that situation.

Then the mismanagement of the TOs on the final drive compound things.

Overall the season has been enjoyable but the playoff drought will continue.

I agree except your last sentence.

I dont think it's been enjoyable at ALL. Same sh*t as every year, just a couple more wins. That's it.

Terrible coaching, offensive coordinator that's offensive, a supposedly stout D that gives up  backbreaking plays, terrible QB, and a GM that's botched so many draft picks its unreal.

What's enjoyable?

Yeah this is a 1990’s esque Jets December collapse. The team feasted on backup QB’s. Saleh completely screwed up after the Wilson catch on the sideline. This season has been brutal.

They had all 3 lol. It’s not like you had to decide when to use your last 2. ALL 3. And you decide to just waste 23 seconds on the clock for no reason. My god.

There were two longer pass completions in the general range of 1 minute, both to Wilson I think, and they wasted closed to 50 seconds between those two plays not calling a TO.  Just mind boggling.

Hmm interesting. I feel like it's reasonable to get caught like that. Got to give them credit it was a great play

I just think this game was so poorly officiated that it put both coaches in a trance. That "13-10" score definitely had me in a trance, I can only imagine what it was like for both coaches trying to snap out of it. This should have been a beautiful game, but it was an abortion, start to finish and the refs definitely engineered it. They made sure it was a low scoring game. I'm convinced of it. All of them should be indicted.

That play, under no circumstances, should ever go for a 50 yard touchdown.  The Jets were so over zealous and over aggressive when they didn’t need to be.

The odds of Detroit marching down and scoring a td even with a large chunk play there is probably less than 10 percent.  Also probably about the percentage chance to stop them on that 4th on that short yardage run they sold out to stop.  It’s just beyond dumb to play that aggressively on that down.  Just absolutely dumb.

Idk looks like they didn't have anyone covering him at all. It's not like the def just missed a tackle there was no one on him it was a single mistake. It happens.

It sucks sure but the def payed well overall. You can't expect perfection every week. The offense had plenty of open wrs all day. Plenty of scoring drives. But Zach was missing every shot.

No excuse letting the clock run making it back to the line after the 1st reception when you have 3 TOs...

Mosley jumped the gun for a 2nd straight week leading to an explosive play after the offense gets the go ahead score...you're a top 3 defense, you have to close that game out late in the 4th...he thought he anticipated the play correctly but got badly fooled. Give the Lions OC credit as well he called a good game against a good defense...

Blame to go around in multiple places, not just the obvious ones..

Bart Scott on the post game reviewed the play and put the blame on Quincy. Makes sense as he did the same thing but came up big on the goal line stop earlier. This time he got burned

What's enjoyable?

Quinnen Williams, DJ Reed, Sauce Gardner, Bryce Huff, Bam Knight, Breece Hall, AVT, Garrett Wilson, meaningful December games? Hope going forward (pretty much everywhere but the QB room).

Offset by some terrible injury luck and complete failure at QB.

Ups and downs. But still far better than any of the previous decade or so.

Zach will be the headline on JN, but Saleh need to rethink what he’s doing with the clock management

this game is likely in overtime with even reasonable management. Letting 30 seconds bleed off took the thread of the runs and check downs away. There’s a hidden 20-30 yards in just check downs, with some decent play design

Even a pass in the dirt to stop the clock is time saving there, just awful play clock management and that isnt on Zach Wilson!

I agreed with Scott

Jets have the lead after the Jets were down and Zach Wilson led them to a go ahead TD and the team only had to keep them out of the end zone to win the game and they blew it!

That is NOT on Zach Wilson! Folks can hate him for his missing open guys but this was not on him!!

I dunno. I don’t relate with a lot of you guys this time around. Clock management at the end was meh. Not criminal, but meh. Taking 12 yard sacks and overthrowing ppl is why we lost. Not b/c of timeouts. …and yes that blown 4 and 1 was crippling but it was not some coaching circus moment. We sold out to stop the run on a 4th/1 and they called TE cross in the flat… it was a ballsy call and they pulled it off. …lessons learned but nothing I would crucify the coach over. ZW is unequivocally not capable of putting the team on his shoulders. Ppl are hurt, OLINE is in tatters - he needed to make plays that he didn’t. That’s all that happened

This frickin coaching staff sucked ass today.

The 4th and one defensive call was the worst since Gregg Williams.

The clock mismanagement the worst since Herm.

We expect Zach to suck.  That’s baked in.  But these coaching blunders were completely unexpected.

We wanted December Football and Boy did we get it. Then this team proceeded to give up big play after big play in games they seemed to have full control of in all 3 phases. Yesterday we held on of the better offenses in Check but we gave them a Punt Return, An Int that cost us 3 points, and a defensive breakdown at the end that contributed to another loss in which we beat ourselves. Over  the last 4 weeks we have 100% beat ourselves in every way imaginable and once in all three phases. This is what happens when you are in close games, one big mistake in any phase and you lose.

This team from top to bottom cannot close out tight games in the final minutes; the coaches, QB inconsistency, Defense breakdowns, Special teams breakdown, OL giving up sacks on QB nor opening RB holes for TD, and WRs drops and getting shoe-string tackled when running for scores all have their failures. This is truly a team effort in this regard. They still have not learned how to win and its shows up in every area of the team.
