Really, Jets
Mike White is an unrestricted free agent after this season. How much is that factoring into the current dilemma the Jets find themselves? Do they give him an opportunity to showcase himself against a weak Jax secondary, a horrid Seahawks D, and then at Miami? Or, do they hope that ZW can take advantage of the same softer defenses, gain confidence, give the fans hope in the offseason, and eliminate a QB controversy in 2023? All this is assuming that JD sees the playoffs as just a pipedream this year.
Barry McCockinner
Mike White has 3 broken ribs and doctors won't clear him to play. His pending FA status is irrelevant.
JiFtheOracle
Mike White has no interest in continuing to play second fiddle to a clearly inferior player. He gone! It was fun while it lasted!
rangerous
people think mike white is suddenly going to latch onto a team for big bucks? doubtful. he may get a free agent contract with a team and be allowed to battle with a draft pick or vet for the starter's job. and that includes staying with the jets.
Larz
They are holding Robinson back for contract reasons, Saleh has made it plainly obvious that he prefers MW and will play him as soon as he’s ready regardless of his contract status imho
More Cowbell
If the Jets don't sign him, I see White ending up in a place like Carolina or The Texans.
Ohhthepain
MW is a franchise QB and will be paid accordingly. Hopefully by the Jets

TokyoJetsFan
Hope we sign him. Offer him 3 years 20-25 mn with incentives for games started would be doable for both sides.

Im assuming Carolina wants nothing to do with ex-Jets at this point.
extmenace
Is there a better situation in the NFL for him going into next year than the jets? Nobody is going to sign him to be their starter. At best, he’s going to be competing for a starting role, but more likely, he’d be signed as a back up. Why go elsewhere when he’s already in the ideal situation? By next year, Zach’s job will be up for grabs, the draft capital spent on him will no longer protect his grasp on the starting gig. Assuming the money is equal and the jets want to keep him, I can’t really think of a landing spot that will offer him more upside. He knows the players, the system, and will likely have some sort of a shot at starting games here.

Hopefully by the Jets LOL There were Jets fans hailing this guy as a potential franchise QB last year, and then the Jets proceeded to slap him with the original round tender (5th round) and no team bit on it. Mike White will stick around the league for another 5 or so years as a quality backup in the Case Keenum/Teddy Bridgewater/Jacoby Brissett mold. No one is handing this guy the keys unless their starter gets injured, and they sure as hell aren’t paying him franchise dollars. As much as Zach has sucked at the basic fundamentals of the position, he still has a better chance of being the Jets QB in 2023 and beyond than Mike White does. Ideally, and I don’t care how much some Jets fans couldn’t stomach it, you lure Brady here for 2 or 3 years and grab a high upside QB in the mid rounds to develop behind him. Brady could still be playing at 50 and post 3800 yards, 25 TD’s, 10 INT’s and still be better than half of the starters in the league. 1
Saul Goodman
Mike White is putting up huge yardage numbers and is a great teammate and lockerroom guy. He’s getting significant contract offers this offseason. Hopefully the Jets are one of the teams that make him a solid offer.
