Who are you moving on from this season?

There are a handful of names I'd put on here but I'm sticking to the names that make the most sense cap wise meaning they'll either save us a lot of money or won't cost us a lot in dead money. Who are you guys putting on the chopping block and why?

1) Carl Lawson - He's as advertised with the one season of play we got out of him. Somewhat injury prone (multiple ACL surgeries) and causes more pressures than hitting home and finishing the play. Has also been a liability this year in missed tackles and both of our rookies have done a better job in that regard.

2) Corey Davis - He was one of the most clutch players for us with a lot of these come from behind wins we've pulled of this year but it doesn't negate the fact that he's had a consistent case of the drops. Knowing that it'll take Zach Wilson pulling off a Clark Kent transformation to win a QB battle next season we should get better and reliable QB play next year and the offense will be left in the capable hands of Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore. (With that said we may want to keep Corey as I have some concerns about the attitudes/mental state of Garrett & Elijah at times).

3) Braden Mann - As a special teams player you literally only have 2-3 responsibilities. Kick the ball and last line of defense on special teams coverage are the two that come to mind. Braden Mann won us over with some of his highlight hits but has been a complete liability in punting coverage. He's shanked as many punts as any of us would have and has consistently (outside of a few great games) made us lose the field position battle.

Ashtyn

Lawson

JFM

Wouldn't mind seeing Elijah's value. He isn't worth all the hype and if there is a big return possible, I'd go get another wide out who is more productive and knows to get out of bounds when we need every second, even if the coach doesn't know how to use timeouts.

Flacco.

Ashtyn.

White. I don't think he is worth the dollar value he will now command.

Berrios. Biggest disappointment of the season for me (I already knew that Zach was a bust, so his play has been no surprise). Berrios has been horrible on ST’s and offense. I thought he had Edelman potential.

Small caucasians. Thats where the similarities end. I've never seen a return guy so pumped about getting out to the 23 yard line.

I'd actually keep Corey Davis.  He's never been anything close to a WR1, but I think he can produce more with competent QB play.

Laken Tomlinson has been a bad miss.  Probably time to eat the loss and move on.

Lawson's a tough one. I guess it comes down to how the staff feels about JJ. Assuming JD upgrades at QB to replace Zach, he may need the space cutting Lawson creates.

Just ONE way the Jets could approach the offseason.

This 100% depends on what they plan to do at the QB position. But I will assume they are going to go after a proven vet QB who will cost, at min., 25mil. and year. Probably more.

I'm also not going to get into depth players. JD/Saleh will figure out which depth guys should be cut and who should stay or be re-signed. A few mil. here are there won't make a huge difference. I don't love Mann or Ashtyn Davis but I don't care that much about what happens to them. Their salary will not make a significant impact on what the Jets are able to do in FA. One depth guy who may be a cap casualty is Berrios. His cap hit is 8mil next year. If JD does not re-structure, the Jets should flat out cut him.

Let walk in FA: Rankins, Fant, Mike White

CUT (cap casualty): Davis, Berrios, Lawson, Tomlinson.

However, the Jets should really try to bring this team back in full as much as they can, rather than gut it.

Re-sign: McGovern, Herbig, Greg the Leg, Joyner, Solomon Thomas, Kwon Alexander, Cedric Ogbuehi, Nathan Shepherd, Quincy Williams, Huff, Jeff Smith. *Some of these guys will be cheap, some will be more expensive (McGovern, Herbig, Quincy, Huff).

Sign in FA:

-Starting vet QB. Priority #1. Figure this out first.

-Possession vet WR who can play on the outside and compliment Wilson as the #1 and Moore in the slot. He does not have to cost a lot. Someone reliable for a change. Lots of options out there.

-DT. The Jets are bringing back Shep. and Solomon Thomas but to fill the loss of Rankins the Jets should sign a DT. He doesn't have to cost a lot. With the deep rotation this is essentially a depth signing. I'm assuming JJ and Clemons will be looked at as the future and will get more playing time at DE/DT.

Draft:

Rd. 1: OT- People will hate this pick but the Jets need to go after another top tier LT prospect. Between Brown, Mitchell, Becton, and a 1st round rookie, we should be able to solidify the RT and LT positions. *Herbig, McGovern and AVT are penciled in as starters on the rest of the line.

Rd. 2: WR- This is about loading up on offense. The defense is pretty much set. I'm taking another WR for our new QB. Wilson, Moore, Vet FA, 2nd round rook and Smith/Hill will compete for the last spot.

Rd. 3/Rd. 4: S and LB- The Jets need to address these two positions in the draft this year. But they don't nec. have to do it early in the draft. This is a good spot where they can still get great prospects at the position.

Rd. 5: IOL/C: I never want to see Feeney on the field again. Keep the pipeline going. Keep building the interior of the o-line.

Wilson but thy won't move him.

Flacco before the plane lands after the last game of the season

Connor McGovern - Weak in the middle of the oline

Thomlinson - typical jets massive disappointment signing

Mims - Had several chances seizes none of them

Corey davis -drops passes, gets hurt, good bye

Uzomah - more rah rah than anything else

I'd easily trade JFmyers if there was a reasonable offer.

Sheppard - does nothing of note, has he ever done anything of note other than take bad penalties?

Mosley and Quinnens brother, laughable pro bowler, that will make tackles if you run right at him, which is what any linebacker in the leauge does.

Lamarcus joyner - Your FS has to make a lot of plays, he doesn't

Braden Mann - boiled in oil

Berrios - pin his eyes open ala clockwork orange and make him watch himself fail to field punts and let 30 yarders roll to our 1 yard line so they can be 60 yarders,....then cut him

Corey Davis: Pretty decent when he isn't dropping balls or getting hurt, which is like 4 games a year.

Lawson: Just not getting the level of production for his salary

Tomlinson: Take the out while we can, he's barely above replacement level

Mosley: I could see a big pay cut or restructure, but he should be replaced with a top pick

Berrios: Big disappointment this year

Mann: Has sucked since Day 1

Flacco: Looks retired already

I would love to add Wilson to the list, but I don't think we are getting off him as Plan 1B going into next year.
