Popular Post UntouchableCrew
They don't really have much of a choice. There's no possible way to sell his return, even in an open competition -- you need a new answer at QB for 2023.

Popular Post T0mShane
When you consider the opportunity cost, the comparative resumés, and the expected return, this was far and away a worse pick than Vernon Gholston. 34 2 6 2

johnnysd
That is just pure conjecture. Been it sounds good with the recent game. I still maintain it is far far more likely the Jets fire LaFleur than get rid of Zach, They might do both but I am not seeing how LaFleur keeps his job 1 1
56mehl56
Even if that will be the front offices (GM/HC) decision , there would be no benefit of them releasing that information now. Just makes no sense , so I claim total speculation BS and Glaser trying to lay claim he was first in breaking the news. 3 2

Popular Post BigRy56
I don’t think there’s many that are more respected out there than Jay Glazer. If he’s reporting it, lock it up
Popular Post Wit
This is pretty bad. JD probably should lose his job for not sticking with Darnold and trading the pick, but he continues to get better at drafting each year. Zach was so bad that the coaching staff probably stays intact. If they miss the playoffs next year Woody will clean house.
Larz
Looks like glazer framed it as “expect” Did he say he heard it from a team source? I’m not surprised and I don’t disagree but not taking this too seriously 4
Beerfish
It is certainty possible but what shred of evidence is there to this effect? And what does move on mean? To move on they have to actually get rid of him, off the team. Starting Mike Whit for the 3 games until he gets hurt is not moving on. If they can get something decent for him you move on. If not which is more likely you keep him as QB 2 or 3. In any case, the Jets have to add at least one viable QB to White to compete with white at the very least. I can see douglas using wilson to move up rounds rather than trading him for, say, a conditional 3rd rounder. But you can’t keep him on the team, you can’t keep stacking the roster and losing when someone else is hurt and you play wilson and can’t score. I have more faith in becton returning than in wilson figuring it out. 3

I agree. Gholston was dreadful but was the consensus #6 player at #6 and the rest of that first round was pretty meh. Wilson was a big risk at #2 and has been an unmitigated disaster. I'm still not much of a believer in the rest of the QBs taken after him (very much still wait and see on Fields who I preferred at the time) but guys like Jamar Chase, Patrick Surtain, Micah Parsons, Penei Sewell, Rashawn Slater, and Kyle Pitts were all there.

He's shown with competent QB play the offense works reasonably well. Zach and Flacco just couldn't make it work. White and Josh Johnson had some success. I would think the discussion is on how much of an upgrade do they need vs. White since he was not great in the red zone and is injury prone. 2

mrcoops
Mike White, solid vet FA competition/backup, plus a rookie drafted in the first three rounds. Zach traded to the highest bidder, probably for considerably less than we got for Darnold. 3 1
