Glazer: Jets expected to move on from Zach Wilson after the season

It is certainty possible but what shred of evidence is there to this effect?  And what does move on mean?

To move on they have to actually get rid of him, off the team.  Starting Mike Whit for the 3 games until he gets hurt is not moving on.

If they can get something decent for him you move on.  If not which is more likely you keep him as QB 2 or 3.

In any case, the Jets have to add at least one viable QB to White to compete with white at the very least.

Very curious to see if there is a team that would trade for him

There’s one born every minute.  I can see douglas using wilson to move up rounds rather than trading him for, say, a conditional 3rd rounder.  But you can’t keep him on the team, you can’t keep stacking the roster and losing when someone else is hurt and you play wilson and can’t score.  I have more faith in becton returning than in wilson figuring it out.

When you consider the opportunity cost, the comparative resumés, and the expected return, this was far and away a worse pick than Vernon Gholston.

I agree.

Gholston was dreadful but was the consensus #6 player at #6 and the rest of that first round was pretty meh.

Wilson was a big risk at #2 and has been an unmitigated disaster. I'm still not much of a believer in the rest of the QBs taken after him (very much still wait and see on Fields who I preferred at the time) but guys like Jamar Chase, Patrick Surtain, Micah Parsons, Penei Sewell, Rashawn Slater, and Kyle Pitts were all there.

Zach Wilson and a pick for Jordan Love, Get White back to be the backup.

That is just pure conjecture.  Been it sounds good with the recent game. I still maintain it is far far more likely the Jets fire LaFleur than get rid of Zach, They might do both but I am not seeing how LaFleur keeps his job

I'm not seeing this.  He's shown with competent QB play the offense works reasonably well.  Zach and Flacco just couldn't make it work.  White and Josh Johnson had some success.  I would think the discussion is on how much of an upgrade do they need vs. White since he was not great in the red zone and is injury prone.

if Zach doesnt start and its White or Flacco and they can do good its not MLF, it was Zach.

Love looked good in limited play, but man its scary to get another guy thats never played.

Not gonna argue that very fair.  I just don’t see a better option, they are all gambles Minshew, White, whoever I’ve seen both White and Minshew they are not the Jets long term answer.

Only other guy is Carr. I agree, no one great is available. Rodgers may be done, and I dont want to gut the defense to trade for him.
