I don’t have any advanced stats but he currently has 4 passing TDs, 2 rushing, and wait for it.. 0 turnovers.

I just read an article about Sam from a year ago after a 3 pick game for Carolina vs NEP which basically said he can’t play in the NFL. One quote in particular caught my attention. Sam would have had a much better shot with this current team than the one he got stuck with. I honestly believe the jets ruined him. We didn’t ruin Wilson, he was just a bad pick and the front office couldn’t figure out that he didn’t have the mental part of the game needed to be an NFL qb.

Wasn't there some conflict within the front office on whether to keep him or not?  I thought Lafleur and Saleh wanted to keep him and try to make it work and JD did not want to pick up the 5th yr option... in any event wouldn't that be a slap in the dick if the Jets had interest and he declined coming back

I think it's safe to say that this ship has sailed.

But I've always wondered how Darnold would have done here with some NFL level talent around him in Mike LaFleur's system. He was definitely a part of the problem on the Jets in his three years (perhaps just too inexperienced), but he got a raw deal here for sure in terms of the utter trash around him.

Sam Darnold was 19 years old when the Jets drafted him, was the YOUNGEST QB in NFL history to start an NFL game, and had NO QB COACH, so he was essentially tasked with teaching himself the QB position ---- and we wonder why a flawed drafted QB didn't get better with no coaching, poor OL play and in general horrific skill position players.

So, Sam Darnold in year 5 is NOT a good QB right now but make no mistake about it the Jets contributed mightily to his current dysfunction

he is another accuracy challenged QB who is under 60%. until today. but as i checked the stats in the 3rd QT Sam didnt do much while Foreman and Hubbard had over 100 yds each on the ground.

yeah he is better than Zach, hell im almost 50 and im better than Zach. but you need a dominant running game where he has to do the bare minimum. sounds familiar? 

today they ran for 320 yds, Denver for 185 and Seattle for 223. 

lets see what he cn do when his team runs for 80-90 yds and he has to carry them.

sorry this isnt the upgrade i was looking for. White is better.
