Buck implying that the NFL wanted to resume the game five minutes after Hamlin collapsed and Taylor and McDermott agreed to not play.

That would be insane for the league, but 100% the right move for Taylor and McDermott.  Honestly, before they made any announcement about it the first thing I thought is that the sidelines just needed to talk to each other/officials to figure this sh*t out, regardless of what the league said, so it was good to see that happening.

Now just God bless Hamlin.

This is scary and it should be a wake up call to the fans/league.

How many times did we see the Milano hit on Mike White replayed? That put his life in immediate danger. He was one more bad collision away from major internal organ damage. It’s a minor miracle he escaped that game w/out a life-altering injury.

And you’ve got JETS FANS whining about how he’s “injury prone” after. It’s all so disgusting.

Not being funny at all, legitimately curious, what would something like this do to the gambling world for the game, if its cancelled outright or considered a tie?

I dont really gamble myself so I'm pretty dense on what vegas would do in this type of scenario.

I’d imagine everyone would just get refunded for their bets.

I know nothing about that world, but from the reaction of some of these media types, the assholes seem to care more about their personal bets and the NFL, than the guy on his way to the hospital.

Yep, Goodell deserves zero credit for “doing the right thing”.

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapses on field, gets CPR; game suspended - CBS New York (cbsnews.com)

CINCINNATI — Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field and was administered CPR before being driven away in an ambulance during Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin collided with Bengals receiver Tee Higgins after a completion. He got to his feet, appeared to adjust his face mask with his right hand, and then fell backward about three seconds later and lay motionless. Hamlin was surrounded by stunned players from both teams, and when he was taken off the field 16 minutes later, the Bills gathered in prayer.

While medical personnel were gathered around Hamlin, his uniform was cut off and he appeared to be getting CPR. ESPN reported on its telecast that Hamlin was also given oxygen. He was strapped to a backboard and moved into the ambulance.

"No one's been through this," longtime NFL quarterback Troy Aikman said on the ESPN telecast. "I've never seen anything like it, either." The game was suspended 21 minutes after the injury, and players walked off the field slowlyThe 24-year-old Hamlin spent five years of college at Pitt -- his hometown -- and appeared in 48 games for the Panthers over that span. He was a second-team All-ACC performer as a senior, was voted a team captain and was picked to play in the Senior Bowl. He was drafted in the sixth round by the Bills in 2021, played in 14 games as a rookie and then became a starter this year once Micah Hyde was lost for the season to injury. Entering the game, the 6-foot, 200-pound Hamlin had 91 tackles, including 63 solo tackles, and 1 1/2 sacks.

Seeing that was probably pretty traumatic for some of the players/coaches.

Bets will likely get refunded. Books do it all the time if a player gets injured but that’s more for props and stupid parlays. That’s not where the big $ is. Rarely does an entire game get refunded in terms of spread & o/u. But this is not a normal situation. Clearly.

Critical. OMG That's just unreal.  He's alive so there is hope. I didn't see it - just heard about it and it didn't sound good when they said he required CPR. But he's alive so lets all pray.
Have to take these reports with a grain of salt... hard to imagine that these reporters are getting this info with the medical privacy laws in place

I see. Thank you.
