Sounds like McVay is gonna step down as coach of the Rams

McVay is a bit over-rated, imo.

They gave him an all-in stacked team. He won. They show adversity. He loses.

Now he wants to leave? I dunno. Saleh has his flaws, but I do like that he’s facing the adversity head-on. 100% Saleh is rolling in the playoffs with that Rams roster from their SB.

Just goes to show… both coaching and roster matter. It’s not one or the other. It’s about the harmony between the two.

I think it’s more McVay accomplished what he set out to do and is good w/exiting. I think he’d coach the Rams up next year if stuck around.

McVay has a tortured Football mind. He can recite specific play calls and their result from every game he’s ever coached, and that kind of brain runs hot all the time. This is the type of dude that has to sit on a beach and read a book

Maybe our guy and McVay can meet on a beach? I think we have our answer to unlocking the Fort Knox of talent that is Zach Wilson!

I cant imagine why he would want that job. They went all in last year. High priced vets, not many young players, no first round draft picks.

That team is going to be bad for a while.

exactly. as soon as these HCs who have a legacy to protect they run when the going gets tough. he sees there going downhill and doesnt want to ruin his record anymore. just like Payton left after one year of no Drew Brees.

makes you think if these guys are such great coaches or they just had really good QBs. but we will never know cause they would never take a job or stay at one without a QB

Good for him, going out on his terms. The HC jobs rarely end well for the coach, they are generally fired or forced to step down. Kind of like the mafia, except you lose your job and not your life, lol. The job is a day in and day out grind, he can have his pick of jobs following next season if he chooses too. Also, he can work some show and make truck loads of cash.

McVay has been hinting at this all year, and it looks like he’s set to walk away. Good for him, I guess.

This. He took a 4-12 team and immediately went 11-5 in his first year. He made the SB with Jarred goddamn Goff. He was instrumental in building the team and going all in for the SB, and he delivered.

Imagine detracting points from someone from building a SB winner and then delivering.

Him walking away is nothing new. Rumors have been circling about it for years, and especially after they won last year he had to address it. He made it very clear that he and his wife are ready to start a family (…start a family after going 1/2 in SBs before the age of 35!), and that he has other interests.

Not exactly “detracting points”. Just calling out that he’s lumped in with the upper-most echelon of coaches, and I don’t think he should be for reasons I stated.

I think you guys arguing against my statement were too busy typing genetic responses about what everyone knows to finish reading.

Now getting him on the Jets staff would be far bigger than getting a QB, just saying!

LETS GO!!!

Would love Mcvay on your team in any offensive capacity

I love this idea that McVay would be some kind of assistant, reporting to Robert Saleh.

LMFAO!!!

The Rams should bring in Saleh as his life coach.

Of course he is

they traded away every future asset and gave out ridiculous contracts to make that 2-3 year run they had

now that franchise is f&@ked for the next 5 years and he’s getting out of dodge

They opened the most expensive stadium in football after moving the team to LA.   They went for broke to creat a fan base.   McVay did everything he needed to do.   Nobody thought the were winning a SB with Stafford.

They did exactly what they planned to do.   It rarely works out.

Who would want the rams job?  No QB, no salary cap, no draft picks.

Good for McVay I guess but this seems like a bail out because the team is going to stink and he can just pull a payton, commentate for a year then go to a stacked team.......like the Jets

If healthy they have a QB and a roster that can win a SB.

They sold out for that SB and he doesn't want to stick around while the bill is due....that team has no future...

Similar to Payton and the Saints, except that team didn't get the ring to show for it.

Yeah they should have built it for  long term success like our Jets. Personally I could see them having another winning season before we ever do.
