Thoughts?

Remember who’s running the show. We have a moron owner who has no clue. I wouldn’t even call him a business man. He’s been a philanthropist since age 23 when his daddy died.

So no, I don’t think so because everything the Jets do is reactive. There’s nothing pro active about this organization.

how many draft picks do you want to give up for these guys? definitely one #1 maybe 2. and a bunch on 2s.

we need those picks. coaching did not lose us this season, QBing did. if i got to give up a bunch of picks its going to be for a QB not a HC.

and Payton won 9 games without Brees almost as many as Saleh did this year with a better QBs than Zach. they weren't much better but still. and McVay went 3-6 when Stafford started. Belichick is a 500 coach without Brady. these guys are not miracle workers. there nothing without a top QB.

i rather keep our draft picks cause were going to need them.

Yeah, everyone knows having a great HC is overrated.

so why didnt Payton stay in NO and finish out his contract? if hes so great he should have found them another QB or just win with the crappy ones they had.

Of course not, thats why we are the Jets. A great coach available, and we will stick with a terrible coach and let a good team get the great coach

They wouldn’t be coming, even if the job were open but…

You know what? You’re right, and everyone else who watches, or works in the NFL is wrong. They should all listen and learn when you say Payton is a lousy HC.

Not gonna lie my friend, Payton is a good coach, but that was one of the largest pussy moves I have ever seen a coach pull, and when you pair that with some of his other past antics…you kinda start to get the Jon Gruden vibes outta this situation.

The reason no-one good comes here is because we are a clown org with a clown owner. We have some decent young talent, plenty of cap space, we are in NYC. This should be a good destination, but our clown owner and his operating ways make us undesirable

You’re right about him coming off a little shady, and I never rooted for him. At this point I’m willing to overlook a lot of things to get a HC of his stature.

What we have now is embarrassing . I’m not a Harbaugh fan either, but I’d take him now also if we could get him.

At this point what do we have to lose? We have to do something to change this cycle of lousy HCs and QBs we keep trotting out one after another.

Well, in the case of Payton, a first round pick and more, lol.

Could’ve got McCarthy without giving up draft capitol and full control. Payton is a carbon copy of McCarthy. Same age, pretty much same record, both won a Super Bowl with HOF qbs… no one wanted him. Payton is revisiting that situation only more desperate.

and McVay is walking away because that team is a dead end now. I think there have been reports of him being burnt out and wanting to start a family. He’s so young, he will sit for a year or two and come back to another ready made team.

Agreed, most of these guys luck into situations… joe torre as a manager didn’t win anything until he fell into Steinbrenner’s wallet and now he’s a hall of fame manager. I’m sure the Yankees won those 3 titles in a row because Joe torre was sitting on the bench.

as you said, belichick couldn’t coach out of a bag in Cleveland, yet he kicks into Brady and they want to rename the trophy after him.

you need the players, anyone who thinks if Payton comes here he doesn’t become a huge disappointment because he doesn’t have drew Brees is kidding themselves.

We need the coach more than any draft picks. Nothing matters without coaching and QB. Not finding and developing a QB until the right people (with a plan) are in place.

coaching matters but not as much as a QB. you guys all want to kill Saleh for losing 5 straight but dont give him credit for winning 7 with horrible QBs. if we upgrade the QB position Saleh is good enough to bring us to the playoffs.

and we dont need a HC to develop a QB anymore. Zach is done and our next QB will be in the NFL long enough he doesnt need devolvement.
