They don’t get sauce Garrett or breece if they trade down

Big Joe made the right move

We still could have drafted Breece. Garret maybe not. So what. He isn't the only WR that could have been available to us. Rather have Sewell  and Creed Humphey anyway. That's the foundation that you can build from

What’s the deal with Woody exactly?

Why is he so toxic / radioactive?

Belichick obviously knew ahead of time and so did Parcells.  But what is it about him?

Meddles too much?  Sleazeball?  A—hole?  Cheap bastard?

I mean most people that work for an organization never see or hear from the owner at all.

Woody’s checks aren’t bouncing.

Do quality FAs avoid the Jets because of Woody, too?

I get the impression that BS and JD were loving life under CJ but suddenly uncomfortable since Woodrow returned from his “ambassadorship”.

He interviewed in Detroit and then wanted the Jets job.  That doesn’t mean he wasn’t a hot coordinator/next HC type.  But whatever.

No, Detroit wasn’t interested in him after the interview. And we can see why, he was completely outcoached by Dan Campbell during the Lions game. It’s not whatever, it’s a fact.

Dude,  nobody wanted him.  I know I did and heard it.  If you did fine, that hardly changes what was being said here.

First off, who cares, what "the people" want, it's a strawman to my point.  Further, what do you mean "nobody" are you talking literally?  lol  because clearly half of this board is taking my comment in the literal text.  lol  Like, Woody "wants to win" its just on like a level 2 of concerns, anywho;

@Sarge4Tide made a poll of preferences.  While the preference was Saleh,  I voted Pederson and Daboll, so did a few others as well.  So clearly, some of us wanted him.

Here is a fan club thread:

Here is thread w/ a simple yes or no to Doug Pederson....lots of yes responses in the thread.  87 people voted yes...is that "nobody"  lmfao

Saleh is on record that he bombed the interview and Detroit wasnt interested.  He interviewed w/ 2 teams, I guess there was supposed interest, so fine, lets call him a hot candidate that interviewed w/ the 2 worst franchises in the NFL.  That makes it so much more sexy.

Now apologize for you behavior.

I was onboard w/ Dan Campbell as well.  I even said it last year, I'd trade them right now.  Campbell tries to win, Saleh tries not to lose.  Did you see the nuts on him last night w/ some of those 4th quarter calls?  I'm just out here showing receipts this morning, BP...lol

It cracks me up that people actually believe that Woody Johnson cares about winning and would get frustrated over anything Jets related.  This is just a distraction for him, he doesnt give two sh*ts if the Jets win or lose.

i doubt this is true. rich people typically have huge egos. no way he is ok with the team he owns being the laughing stock of the league year in and year out

If the Sacramento Kings make the playoffs this year (and they're currently in position to) then the Jets will have the longest playoff drought in the 4 major sports.

Again, everyone took this comment in literal context.  I figured you'd all understand nuance here.  Woody Johnson wants the team to win, ofcourse but it's not a primary concern.  It's like a level 2 out of 10 on the ****s given scale.  He's happy being an owner because of the invites he gets outside of the league, he doesnt care much if they win or lose, if he did, something would change here.  It's not that hard.

its hard for me to blame coaching when the QB play has been so horrendous.

you all want to kill him for the loses which is right, but what about the 7 wins? again with horrible QB play. does he get credit for them? or credit for turning the worst defense in to a top 3? which i think if i heard it right was the 1st time in history that has happend.

if he had a better QB were in the playoffs and were not even having this conversation. im not sure the best HCs in the league could do better with the QBs we had this year.

He coaches one side of the ball

INEPT AT OFFENSE. CLUELESS

thats NOT a good coach

Why are people just revising history? Saleh, LaFleur and Douglas were ALL IN on Zach. They said so. They made a big deal about how JD, Saleh and LaFleur all scouted QB separately and ALL came back with Zach as their guy. FFS please stop with this shiite.

Zach IS THE GUY
a new OC and he BALLS

Yeah, he interviewed in Detroit. That’s all I said.  No one can read.

And no one out coached anyone, Campbell had a QB and squeezed out a win.
All of which has nothing to do with the original point.

Great response after misquoting someone

You should be ashamed of yourself. The majority of the people here actually watch the games.

I said this before, if you were a passenger on the titanic and a purser told you to put your life jacket on you would be furious with him and insisting the ship isn’t sinking even though the water is rising on deck.

At this point that’s the response you get because you’re like debating with a closed minded broken record.

Yeah, I don’t watch games.
The comment was that Saleh interviewed in Detroit and you’re arguing he didn’t.  I’d love to know what watching games and the titanic have to do with it? Even if he didn’t?  It’s not a debate, he had an interview, wasn’t hired.  Move on

I think you’re the one who’s confused. It’s ok, go back and re read the chain. You’re making absolutely no sense on the Detroit post I made. It’s ok, calm down, take a deep breath and read it again.

I have been wondering about this for years and it is not something I've seen discussed.

Defensive coordinator Belichick was given a $1M bonus by Leon Hess to stay on with the Jets and become the head coach when Parcells left.  He was the head coach for only one day and then he bailed. Put quite simply, he ROBBED the Jets of a million dollars. The only thing missing was a mask and a gun.

It is for this reason that I absolutely HATE the thieving bastard. But I digress.

This begs the question: Exactly why does Belichick hate the Jets so much? If it was something about Woody, what was it about him that spooked Belichick? I have never heard a reasonable explaination. I can only surmise there is something that went down that was never made public. I wonder what it was.

Agreed but I will say I guess in this example, I think JD led the this hiring process.  I dont think Woody got in the way.  So I digress to a degree but at the end of the day IMO, it always leads back to the head.

Woody was still in London when the Jets hired both Douglas and Saleh.

I'm sure he was involved, but technically they are both Christopher Johnson hires.

I think there's some truth to this. Not to get into armchair psychoanalysis, but for guys who actually earned their money, I think they view their teams like an investment. For a guy like Woody who's never earned jack sh*t, I think he views it as a toy. He wants the team to do well, but I don't think he takes it personally when it doesn't. There's also the fact that he's completely ******* incompetent and wouldn't know how to build a winning franchise even if he desperately wanted to.

i mean this is nothing but your opinion and has zero basis in any facts though. so the "i'm smarter than you" post isn't quite working

If Woody is this mad and wants to make a change at HC then he needs to Hire Harbaugh and let him and Douglas get us to a SB

Harbaugh is using nfl teams to get a raise.  He is not leaving Ann Arbor and definitely not to work for Woody Johnson
