Hal N of Provo
No way MLF is still OC next season. The defense was good and it’s a defensive HC, so that’s the only change I expect, unless a home run offensive head coach becomes available. Who’s up next? Any coaches on the offensive side who should be retained?

Hal N of Provo
Looks like 4th worst scoring team this season. I think Ten and Pit pass the Jets this week. Texans almost there.
Popular Post Beerfish
Defense was mediocre they do not do what you have to do to win in this league, get tunrovers. Oline trash QB trash, RBs trash after hall got hurt. If the jets do not upgrade qb and oline by a lot it does not matter at all who the oc is. 4

Popular Post Lith
Twice this season our defense did not allow an offensive touchdown by the opponent. We are 0-2 in those games. Win them both and we are in the playoffs. Thanks, MLF. 7 1

BurntDice
I’m still on the fence on outright firing him. He’s still very young and learning on the job. Bring in someone like Reich or Hackett as a co oc type to help coach the O. 3

Last year was his first time calling the plays and developing his own system. Pair that with a QB coach who has 0 experience and it’s a recipe for disaster with saleh being a defensive coach. He doesn’t even need to call the plays next year if a vet offensive coach comes in. Hackett runs the WC offense as well and has many more years of experience behind him. MLF can have time to take a breather and grow as a coach.
Popular Post T0mShane
If you’re LaFleur, you probably want to get fired at this point. You can reasonably tell prospective employers that you got stuck with a cataclysmic bust QB and a ton of injuries. He can go coach up receivers with his brother next year while Saleh implodes here with Garoppolo. Win win. 10

If they keep Zach I think he’s got to go. they might not keep Zach, so maybe. The WRs and Zach had friction with MLF this season. It was danced around in interviews but they all let it slip a few times.
BigRy56
This is a change that I think I could get behind. I was a fan of his at first but he hasn’t been able to deliver. The Jets need some experience on the offensive staff

Maybe I’m just being foolish, but I think MLF has potential be a good OC, but he was just handed this job too early with an inexperienced staff around him. If we bring in some vet coaches and a qb then things can be different

LOL, his offense didn't score an offensive TD in 6 different games - which 3 different QBs played in. His offense finished the season with 30 straight possessions (spanning the last three games) without an offensive TD. There is no excuse for that level of ineptitude in 2022. He absolutely holds some responsibility for this mess.

Bleedin Green
Getting hung up on one coordinator is a fruitless mindset. Let's not forget it was Ulrich who everyone wanted as the scapegoat last year. If they decide to keep Saleh then it's 100% his call, and it's a waste of everyone's time to talk about forcing a change at one particular position when this entire team is likely to be get sh*t-canned in a year from now. No one worth a damn would want the job anyway, when everyone's already got a foot out the door. Plus it will also turn off future head coach candidates if they think they are going to get forced into how they fill their staff. If the team is felt to be that big of a mess, then you send them all packing right now, JD and the entire front office unquestionably included, and start the true rebuild this year. Forcing some partial change is beyond pointless and will do little-to-no good.

But the QB room and offensive line play have been so bad I just don’t see any OC having lots of success down the stretch. The other side of this is look what the offense looked like when healthy — even with Zach Wilson out there they were scoring. It is what it is but feels like a half-measure based on media fan/pressure than any kind of real solution.
