I’m still on the fence on outright firing him. He’s still very young and learning on the job. Bring in someone like Reich or Hackett as a co oc type to help coach the O.

He might have a bright future but it can’t be with the Jets.  Regression was across the board.  He doesn’t seem to be a detail oriented teacher.

That can have something to do with inexperience. He was probably overwhelmed. Last year was his first time calling the plays and developing his own system. Pair that with a QB coach who has 0 experience and it’s a recipe for disaster with saleh being a defensive coach. He doesn’t even need to call the plays next year if a vet offensive coach comes in. Hackett runs the WC offense as well and has many more years of experience behind him. MLF can have time to take a breather and grow as a coach.

Then you can all the other developmental guys.   I’m not sure he will want to stay.  He might choose the pink slip and a fresh start.

If they keep Zach I think he’s got to go.  they might not keep Zach, so maybe.

The WRs and Zach had friction with MLF this season.  It was danced around in interviews but they all let it slip a few times.

Maybe I’m just being foolish, but I think MLF has potential be a good OC, but he was just handed this job too early with an inexperienced staff around him. If we bring in some vet coaches and a qb then things can be different

Saleh was just non committal in the presser about MLF returning next year, which I think means he’s gone.

But only b/c he has to not b/c he wants to or thinks he needs to.  Saleh was setting up MLF to return by blaming everything on wilson but white sucking blew that up.

Seems clear he’ll get blamed for this and fired. Honestly don’t think he’s responsible.

Hope and pray whoever replaces him isn’t brought in under the guise of “saving Zach” or were completely ****ed.

LOL, his offense didn't score an offensive TD in 6 different games - which 3 different QBs played in. His offense finished the season with 30 straight possessions (spanning the last three games) without an offensive TD.

There is no excuse for that level of ineptitude in 2022. He absolutely holds some responsibility for this mess.

4 if you count strev.

In hindsight i think saleh was setting up MLF’s return by blaming everything on wilson but then white sucking blew up that narrative.

Getting hung up on one coordinator is a fruitless mindset.

Let's not forget it was Ulrich who everyone wanted as the scapegoat last year.  If they decide to keep Saleh then it's 100% his call, and it's a waste of everyone's time to talk about forcing a change at one particular position when this entire team is likely to be get sh*t-canned in a year from now.  No one worth a damn would want the job anyway, when everyone's already got a foot out the door.  Plus it will also turn off future head coach candidates if they think they are going to get forced into how they fill their staff.

If the team is felt to be that big of a mess, then you send them all packing right now, JD and the entire front office unquestionably included, and start the true rebuild this year.  Forcing some partial change is beyond pointless and will do little-to-no good.

I didn’t say he doesn’t bare any responsibility. Of course he does.

But the QB room and offensive line play have been so bad I just don’t see any OC having lots of success down the stretch.

The other side of this is look what the offense looked like when healthy — even with Zach Wilson out there they were scoring.

It is what it is but feels like a half-measure based on media fan/pressure than any kind of real solution.
