I truly believe there will be an offensive player mutiny if MLF is back.  Locker room buy in is important.

We heard a quote from Garrett Wilson today.  Let’s see what else comes down the pike.

The team didn’t score a touchdown for 12 straight quarters to close out the year. LaFleur didn’t even try, really.

He schemed TDs in 2021 to overcome a lack of talent. It was clear as day and kind of impressive.

For a guy w/a known penchant for creativity, he didn’t even try to generate offense the final 3 games. It was clear as day. Methinks he actually wants out. He left no doubt at the end.

If sweeping changes aren’t coming, then bringing in a guy like Kubiak to oversee the offensive side of the ball is about the best you could ask for.

Literally the only dude who has spent more time in this offense is Mike Shanahan himself.

Mentioned this in another thread prior to the presser, this morning:  Completely real, and part of the Intel I was able to snag late last night while asking around about Hahn’s tweet.

Kubs wants back in the game, but I don’t think it would be as OC, barring something drastic changing with his health.  Think of it more like how Tom Moore came in with Schotty in 2011, except I think MLF, if he stays, would benefit a large amount, and is already a better OC than Schotty in terms of game-planning.  Whoever the QB is would not be throwing to 2 washed up psychopaths and a young psychopath who was given a ton of money either.

The Jets hire people who have no qualms half assing things because it’s a way to accumulate wealth with little pressure. Eventually Woody moves on, but this is a great stop in the road for coaches. 3 years of the same staff it looks like, minus Austin who’s suspended. Saleh is making obscene money and brought his friends along with him. No different than some of the nonsense Gase was spouting.

Wholeheartedly agree! This is not the archetype of a coach that I want to teach and mold a young team. This team under Saleh has lacked discipline (which has been painfully obvious all season with the many back breaking, game changing, ridiculous penalties) and there is very little to no accountability for poor play. I am not a big fan of coaches that coddle players and that try to be "buddies" with them. 

Poor play has to be signaled out in no uncertain terms and there has to be consequences for if poor play doesn't improve. Same goes for the coaching staff.  The Jets have been notorious for years for taking a year or more too long to recognize and attempt to correct the shortcomings of the team in the locker room, the coaches room, and in the front office.

Good coaches and coordinators get paid to install changes with a 1-week turnaround. Thus is like the macro-level idiocy of standing there and watch Zach sink us vs. the Pats.

Miles Austin playing golf all season seems to be a theme. Cavanaugh was around during the Rex years. Not exactly a buttoned up regime, but there were some serious professionals on that staff.

Saleh is basically saying he’s going to make the minimal amount of changes necessary to keep his job, and hope that 1) the return of everyone from injury, 2) another good draft and hopefully FA, and 3) the veteran qb they grossly overpay, will in aggregate make the offense and MLF look much better
