It's the second year in a row they're about to have half the team get drafted in the first three rounds dude.

Right.  But what about his work with the Bucs?  Two top 10 finishes on offense in 3 years with Jameis Winston.  The same Winston who can't get on the field at this point.

I have no idea. But Georgia is winning a second championship because Kirby Smart is already right up with anyone out there as a recruiter. Georgia has fielded a borderline pro team the last two years. Meg Ryan could be the offensive coordinator and it would be the same outcome.

Shoulda' been the hire.  About to win another championship with a walk-on QB who is at best a day 3 pick.

How much would you have to pay that dude to come back to the NFL and work for Robert Saleh?

In your dreams he’s comin to NY. If MLF gets fired it’s a lame duck Year type job - if they miss playoffs next year Saleh is gone. Who wants to sign up for that? Plenty of people but no one that is good and has any actual options

Or Monken could be mlf's heir apparent... How about the jets hire Monken as their Senior OC Assistant with that in mind & draft Stetson in the 3rd / 4th rd's... if mlf stumbles & is out Monken is there with a QB he led to 2 National Championships & Thoroughly Knows his system.

Desperate hypothetical lol. Cmon man, Monken is the hot girl right now and Jets are the ugly kid - you can’t dress us up and hide it. He will have plenty of options if he even wants to leave.

Stetsons 25 anyway, no thanks

Just because it blows your comment out the water. ?

so what... he comes in already ready, with a coach he's thoroughly experienced with... in today's nfl, QB's can play to late 30's... 10+ years as a QB in the NFL is nothing to sneeze at.

Lol man you knew it huh? It would def be different with him. Man oh man if you only were in charge things would be so much better! I mean you knew Saleh wasn't going to work out, even when everyone thought he was in the coach of the year contention....and we were winning games.

Man oh man yeah how dumb of us to let joe hire his guy a head coach on the same page who by accounts is not only a great candidate but probably one of the best in a decade. never mind all the good stuff he has done and coaching..Zach was not tok Brady so yeah got to let him go and get todd ****ijg monekn.

They totaled up big yardage when Jamies was throwing up 33 INTs and costing the Bucs games

And what about the championship they won last year?  That Alabama team had some pretty decent players as well.

Guys like Monken and Joe Brady have displayed not only excellent play design but great play calling.  There are some guys I would be totally on board with turfing LaFleur for, however not every one,  If the Jets trotted out Nathaniel Hackett or Matt Nagy as an oc I'd rather stick with LaFleur

Meg Ryan now or Meg Ryan in 1974?

So a college OC should have been the Jets HC because he's winning in college?

I like him and he's done great with a loaded Georgia team, but that doesn't mean he should be a NFL HC.

No, because of what he did in college, then the NFL and then college again.

Having a hard time seeing them hire anyone other than Bevel if Saleh's voice is the loudest.

I think Saleh knows that his future as HC of the NYJ pretty much rests on nailing this hire. I would think that he will be very deliberate, cast a pretty wide net, and not worry about hiring a former colleague. He’s not getting another chance, at least not here.

I think if Saleh is to survive he needs to go outside his comfort zone and not try and get someone he knows or someone that is going to run a super conservative offense. He needs to get the guy (probably NOT in the Shanahan offense) that he thinks can lead us to 27 points a game and let him do his thing.
