LaFleur and Jets part ways

This “haha Mike LaFleur sucks!” stuff is going to be retroactively hysterical when Joe Douglas is on his hands and knees begging Jimmy Garoppolo to take $80 million guaranteed dollars out of Woody Johnson’s trust fund in a few weeks.

If JD does that it will definitely be an issue for many who support him (me being one of them). The guy can't stay healthy, is old, and yeah. Having said that there is no more connection to the 49'ers offense which should blunt the Jimmy G talk which has been based on running MLF's offense.

Makes zero sense to me. Everyone just complains. The same people complaining would 100% complain if we kept him. It’s a lose-lose with these people.

Not to mention 2 WRs demanding a trade LOL

Berrios and Moore playing out the outside

Garrett Wilson OPENLY calling out the offensive coaching

this guy was AWFUL

NO BRAINER!

Big boy moment for Saleh. He had to choose whether to stick up for his friend or look out for himself. Hopefully this is a formative moment for him.

It all hinges on the QB search this off season or next off season it’s yet another full reboot with a new regime who trades all the young core to launch a rebuild.

Another learning curve for the offense next year.  Not saying he shouldn't have been fired, but we just can't seem to have cohesiveness from year to year.

You never know. 1996/1997. The difference between good coaching and bad coaching.

keyshawn said 1997 was actually his rookie year because he learned nothing in 1996

Keeping LaFleur was worse than lack of continuity or cohesiveness.

LaFleur was creating a massively fragmented clubhouse.  But people here are ok with that. amirite @T0mShane? Totally ignored by most who argued to keep Saleh's buddy around.

There were those who wanted Zach Wilson to keep playing football (Steve Young, Joe Douglas) and everybody else (rest of the roster, Zach Wilson)

Now they hire a new  coordinator that thinks he could salvage Zach. Zach 100% starting next year.

No, they hire a coordinator that a veteran would be willing to come work with.  That wasn't happening with LaFleur.

Nope. They made this move with the hope that an experienced OC can get Zach going. Too much invested in Zach. I don’t like it one bit but Zach is the starter. They’ll now either re-sign White or bring in a lesser veteran back up. 100%. That’s how the Jets roll.

Wait. Hopefully rumors of Saleh being fired leads to other teams inquiring and Joe Douglas discussing it with him and mutually agreeing to part ways.

*3 months later*

LaFleur is the Raiders new passing game coordinator's assistant to the regional manager. Meanwhile, Robbie Saleh is now the latest 49'ers defensive run stop intern. Fuqoutta here. No one wants these guys.

The offense wasn’t bad with Breece Hall and AVT. I’m not sure Bill Walsh could have scored points with the QB play the last few weeks

Agreed. Bill Walsh had a lower winning percentage with QBs not named Montana or Young than Bellichick has without Brady and we love to rag little Bill for that.

The entire offensive unit was screaming to get rid of this guy...  but .. cohesivenesss you know...

LaFleur basically inspiring a rebellion in the clubhouse.  But continuity you know.

I still say they go after a Jimmy / Carr as a 1-2 year plan let Zach learn on the bench
