LaFleur and Jets part ways

I highly doubt that. They will still pursue a veteran quarterback in the off-season. Zach Wilson is just a project on the depth chart for the Jets to try and salvage into maybe a backup quarterback.

If they get someone it will be similar to the Josh McCown thing

The jets are the most ineptly managed team in the nfl by far.  Worst record since 2015.  0 playoff appearances in 13 years.  And now Woody will pass on Carr, Brady, Rodgers in favor of trying to salvage Zach Wilson miniature Jimmy Clausen

And before the inevitable “why would Reich come here?” posts…

Reich is in his 60’s. It’s not like he’s some fresh faced up-and-comer who can bide his time until the perfect opportunity arises.

Of the available HC openings, he hasn’t been connected to any of them. It’s all Harbaugh, Payton and ascending, young coordinators.

If he wants back in the game and to potentially get another HC job before it’s too late, he’s going to have to go the OC route.

He’s interviewing for the Carolina HC job.

Yes the OC route for a 1st year coach. Not the OC for a guy who has a playoff mandate. This job would be career suicide for someone like him.

Yes, they will hire a magically talented OC and hand Jimmy Garoppolo generational wealth to play 12 games over the next two seasons.

Mike White will be penciled in to fill in the games he misses but unfortunately he’s injured beyond repair

Woo Hoo!...

So no more MiLF posts!...

Oh yeah...

Nevermind...

The Wilson pick claims it's first victim.

The new OC will find himself dealing with the same nonsense once Wilson gets behind center for a few games.

No idea if Lafluer did a great job, or not. How could anyon with 2 years of Wilson as the #1 QB. Team looked good at times when Hall was playing and when the QB was not Wilson. That's the problem. Are they really gonna demand the next guy trot this loser out?

Think if they were serious about Garapolo, Lafleur might have been a selling point for him, but really means jets will be overpaying him. And paying a pile of $ whether Wilson is here or not.

Josh McCown? We aren't bringing in any babysitter backup quarterbacks like that. The Jets are bringing in a quarterback to get to the playoffs with. Think Derek Carr or trading for Lamar Jackson.

That is exactly what we are doing.  Signing some crappy 38 year old veteran to backup Wilson

I like this angle as well.

if he helps turn it around he is a top candidate to jump to a hc spot.

risk is if they suck again next year and they clean house, he prob does not get the jet job and might fall down the list a bit for others

Anything is better than a full 2022 redo which includes LaFleur.  Frankly, Saleh should be gone too but he's got a 1 year leash. This was the only logical move to make outside of kicking Saleh to the curb with him.

Time to move on.

Why would anyone like that take that job since as of now it’s saddled with BustYU and a regime officially walking down the green mile hoping the governor calls? We will get someone like the giants QB coach as OC.

There are actually human beings motivated by new challenges.  There will be someone who accepts the challenge.  Period.

Mike McDaniel is no guarantee to be back with Miami, so he’s a name to watch. Darrell Bavell too. Nathanial Hackett has to be considered as a possibility as well

Have no idea what’s going RE: Kubiak front. But if he comes aboard there’s so many talented and experienced coaches that would follow.

+1 to Kubiak and anyone he’d bring with him

Lol to the rest. Doesn’t even matter unless they add another viable QB to the room and fix the OL.
