Yes. Carroll took the hit but it was really bevel who made the dumbest playcall in the history of football

And this is the guy who is supposed to fix Zach Wilson.  The stupidity of this organization oh my God

Why do you keep talking about fixing Zach? Zach isn’t starting. That ship has sailed. It’s gonna be another guy brought in.

Two under the radar candidates...

Brian Hartline Ohio State OC

This would make sense if they could pair him up with Stroud.

Joe Brady Buffalo Bills QB Coach

Really highly thought of Offensive mind who floundered under Rhule in Carolina but had major success with LSU and Burrow.

Both of these guys would need a senior offensive assistant to help them grow and learn under but both possess upside as offensive minds.

Kubiak - Zach will cause him to have another heart attack

Pep Hamilton - was horrible with the colts, is part of why they botched Luck

Moore - will get a HC job

Reich - can get a HC job and wants nothing to do with Zach and Woody

Kingsbury - not coming here. Either goes back to college or the patriots

Shaw - can get a HC job

Oh, cool, in that case, then probably shouldnt even try to hire one, ya feel me?

Or do you have the secret list w/ the guys who call the best plays?

Let’s get the QB first then find the coach that will fit the QB instead of it being the other way around.

This is what I hope is happening at 1 Jets Drive.  The QB they will target will be immensely important for the OC search.  Since we will be hiring an OC before we can sign a QB in free agency or trade for one, I really hope JD is thinking this through with the intention of the OC being the right fit for the QB they want.

Example - the OC we would be targeting if we are planning on signing/trading for Derek Carr should be completely different than if we are planning on trading the farm for Lamar Jackson or even signing Jimmy G.

Preferably not a bunch of miserable dweebs who sucked everywhere they went.  Personally, I'd prefer a former HC because this staff needs some senior leadership and Saleh needs someone who he can outsource the offense to and never have to think about it again.

Gary Kubiak

Frank Reich

Jim Caldwell

Kliff Kingsbury

David Shaw

if Saleh is intimidated by a former HC and wants to be a pusswah about it, I'd like at the staffs that will be dismantled:

Kellen Moore

Pep Hamilton

Liam Coen

What I dont want is a positional coach or passing game coordinator being give a prove it shot.  Too late for that sh*t.

Thank you for taking the time to make a list. I'll forward it to @football guy

With that said...if you knew we could get Derek Carr and Greg Olson together as sort of a package deal, would you consider it?

Whatever OC they pick they need to be able to develop QBs - Zach and the new guys coming in. Sounds like MLF was more introverted and didn't connect well with the players - more of a behind the scenes guy. I think they need someone to connect with the players this time - a coach that you know who you are dealing with. It makes just as big a difference as the Xs and Os to a team.

Greg Olson sucks and Carr is the mush.  So no.  I want nothing to do w/ either.

I like the idea of bringing Brady in.  The shine came off his rose after his time in Carolina, but he is still a young offensive savant.  Weakening a division rival is a bonus

Saleh will never learn. It’s a buddy list mostly. @Integrity28 is correct, he’s dumbing down the list so nobody makes him look bad. I don’t even know if he has a plan in place or is just winging it. He’s only got one shot here and he better make it count.

Also, you had quite a breakfast. Getting interrogated by Deegan while you’re galking at Paul Hackett eating breakfast

To be fair, Cimini compiled a buddy list.  Basically people with ties to Saleh and one with ties to the Carr dream.  We have not heard who they are interviewing yet.

Derek Carr would be the best quarterback the Jets have had since Ryan Fitzpatrick. He's basically like going after Kirk Cousins all over again. I hope we get him, because I don't believe he's washed. Reason I like getting Carr is we wouldn't have to give up any draft capital to get him, he's still a quality starter who could lead the Jets to the playoffs, and he seems like a good dude who would really take a younger quarterback under his wing.

Zach is starting next year.  Book it.

Doubt that.  Whatever vet they bring in will start.  He will cost more $$ than Zach and new OC will likely prefer a vet.  In any event, the chance of Zach winning in camp/preseason over a vet is nil.

I really don’t believe that the Jets hire bad people.  I think the Johnsons make people worse than they are.

This feels like it is going in a very jetsy direction with the retreads.  I think Saleh had the right idea and vision, they just failed to execute.   MLF had a creative vision of what the offense should look like.  Now we are going to get recycled old news.

Meh, being the best QB since Fitz isnt saying much.  I think Kirk is a better player and was a more appealing FA.  None the less, I cant argue any of this, he's an upgrade for sure but I really dont think he pushes the needle all that much, defense be damned, the guy is 63-79 in his career.  That's a lot of losing.  Maybe a fresh start w/ a new scenery works but for a team known for coming up short and disappointing when it matters most, Carr seems like marrying the Titanic w/ the Hindenburg.

I thought QB record was a team stat? Look at the stats this guy has put up over his career.

I hope he doesn't reject the Jets like Cousins did. We basically can be as good as the Vikings this year if Joe Douglas can patch together a respectable offensive line and Breece Hall can get healthy. Maybe have to draft another running back to hedge our bets on Breece Hall making a full recovery.

For real? Hahaha

That brings Nagy to the top of my list.

A team with a defensive oriented HC relies

on his OC and GM to a lesser extent evaluating QB talent.

Schitheimer lead the search that wound up in our drafting

Clemens and Sanchez. Tranny (MT) knew nothing about QBs

or player personnel for that matter. Bald Douglas has

already shown his expertise as a QB shopper.  Our new

OC should lead  the search for our next QB  and more importantly

our future franchise QB.

My list Todd Monken, Nagy, Olson even though I'm not a Carr fan.

My choice for QB is Geno

It is a team stat but 142 games is a lot of data, ya feel me?  All good, I wont cry if they get Carr, they could certainly do worse but if they do, I'd like to see them go find a freak w/ real upside to develop that can compete w/ the stud QB's of the AFC ie; Anthony Richardson and move on from Zach.

And you said earlier the Jets won have to give up draft capital for Carr?  How so?   Didnt he just sign a mega deal in the offseason?

Well if you want to evaluate my posts you better read them all.  I've listed guys who I think would be good.  (Joe Brady, Todd Monken, I'd be okay with Greg Olson after reading more about him) I've listed guys I think will be bad.  (I listed Hackett and nagy before they were mentioned by any media) Three out of the four guys mentioned are in my bad category.

Now lets get to your choices so we can quote at a alter date?  Who do you like and who do you not like?

I was under the presumption the Raiders were going to release him, because he has the no-trade clause. Maybe we give up a low draft pick, so the Raiders get something. What would it cost to get a quarterback who was benched to eliminate the risk of a $40 million injury guarantee kicking in, and the quarterback can control his destination with a no-trade clause? As for finding a freak quarterback with upside I'm all for it. I think you draft a quarterback every year. Look at the 49ers. They drafted one in the 7th round last year, and it's paying off for them. 49ers lucked out big time, but you can't get lucky if you don't keep drafting them. As for Zach Wilson, I'm not sure if they'll move on from him only 2 years away from being the 2nd overall pick, unless Joe Douglas can work his magic again and find a trade partner.
