Whoever comes now has what is a 1 year playoff mandate - likely to be fired if they don’t make it. Unknown QB at the helm. And has to implement the new system with either the same current staff or their own guys who also have to get acclimated. Anyone who would be worth being an OC would be way more inclined to go with a new HC rather than a 3rd year HC on his way out. the problem is and has always been the QB. The offense will depend on who we get as QB. If Saleh gets fired next year for missing the playoffs next year that’s fine - deserved - but they just slashed his tires. Organization is lame and can’t make the hard decisions - firing people is easy, anyone can be upset and fire people. The real story on lafleur is going to come out in dribs and drabs. It’s too early to hear it all. I suspect some of the players will start to pipe up. It seems to me that lafleur wasn’t able to motivate the offense properly. I think he pissed off vets and some of the younger ones in the process. Remember the shanahan system is supposed to be easy for the qb and easy for the offense to execute. Remember all those no name running backs that used to do well in Denver? Well, it’s one thing to say you are running a particular system it’s another thing to teach it the players know it. The only things I see in lafleurs favors are that the oline was hit by a ton of injuries and Wilson had trouble executing some of the plays. Even there it was up to lafleur to make the qb knew how to run the plays.

Its the dumbest of dumb takes on JN, thats pretty impressive. Good coaches find, and develop good players, bad coaches don't. Its that simple. Everyone said how elite the Jets offense would be when we got ZW out. Well, after one game against the lowlly Bears, it was equally trash with Flacco and Mike White, sh*tting the bed in mulitple games. Coaching matters, a lot. Stop with the stupid takes that all anyone needs is a QB. Well, go out and find one and develop one. MLF put his hat in to draft ZW. You make your bed, you lie in it
