Connection with the Jets is saying Brian Johnson is getting an OC job, so that’s out. Also want to see what happens with Marcus Brady (expected to stay in PHI), but it sounds like Ben McAdoo has the inside track for the senior “pass game specialist/coordinator” role if he wants it, assuming the PHI guys won’t be available.

The big story would be his connection to Rodgers and I can’t help but think that would be at least part of their motivation, but according to this individual McAdoo’s style is very similar to Hackett… heavy emphasis on player engagement, teaching/leadership skills, and communication. He’s also known to strongly emphasizes fundamentals and believes in tailoring the scheme to the strengths of your talent… all things Jets are looking for.

I like the McAdoo possibility.

Brady wouldn’t go to Carolina and reunite as Reich’s OC ?

Interesting fact. McAdoo & Saleh just missed coaching on same Michigan State staff. McAdoo coached there in 2001. He then went to Fairfield in 2002. Saleh began coaching at MSU in 2002.

Brady will probably stay with the Eagles, but a lot of this stuff hinges on where others get hired first. If Steichen, Johnson, and/or Patullo leave Brady becomes one of the top in-house candidates at OC or PGC

Hopefully Monday/Tuesday the dominos begin to fall.

Several of the coaches in today's game are in demand for coordinator jobs elsewhere around the league, as well.

Sources say Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy is wanted by the Commanders and Ravens for vacant offensive coordinator posts. If Bieniemy -- who is not under contract after the season and can make a lateral move -- ends up leaving, quarterbacks coach Matt Nagy figures to be a strong candidate to take his old job in KC.

One reason Bieniemy would consider leaving the Chiefs is to call plays rather than share the responsibility with K.C. head coach Andy Reid.

Eagles QBs coach Brian Johnson is also in demand, as the Panthers are among the teams hoping to interview him following the Super Bowl. Johnson also could emerge as a candidate for the Ravens. Or he could stay in Philly as OC if Steichen gets the Colts job.

Meanwhile, Eagles linebackers coach Nick Rallis is a potential candidate for the Broncos' defensive coordinator job.

He's Not going anywhere... Chiefs are still his best shot to get another ring.

Didn’t know where to put this, but interesting comments by David Carr…

This is relevant to us because it’s very much how Kyle Shanahan and Mike LaFleur have coached QBs and kind of gives some insight on what went wrong here. It’s one thing when you have credibility to call an offense this way or have the capacity to teach others “why” it’s done this way, another when you’re inexperienced without many achievements to cite (see MLF). It’s also why Rodgers doesn’t make sense in Vegas

Well, selecting a QB at #2 that is more comfortable playing off platform leaves me a little puzzled. If MLF is similar to McDaniels in that they want a Qb to just stay within the structure of the play, then ZW should not have been selected. He needs an Andy Reed type coach. What a waste!

It's more of them wanting the player to play within the structure of the play until the play breaks, then make plays. In fairness to the Jets, don't know whether they could've known that MLF would be so stringent going in. There are plenty of people who come from the Shanahan tree of the WCO that are more flexible with their usage and expectations of the QB. McVay, McDaniel, Matt LaFleur (albeit forced by Rodgers) are some good examples. Mike Shanahan and Gary Kubiak were also more flexible than Kyle as well. It sounds childish but guys like Kyle Shanahan, Mike LaFleur, and Josh McDaniels see the game as if they were Madden- they want to control the player and have them execute the throws exactly how the coach sees them, then when something breaks down have the ability to make a play. It's less of a scheme thing and more of a coaching philosophy

i think Wilson was far better at the routine stuff in college. for whatever reason (OL, COVID, etc..) he was more of a project than expected.
