We missed out big time on Doug Pederson

Recommended Posts

He obviously did a great job motivating his team to come out in the 2nd half and play great football. He lucked out on a few penalties and a missed FG and the fact that the Chargers forgot the game is 4 quarters not 2 and were listless in the 2nd half. After dealing with Urban Meyer last season someone who rubbed everybody in Jax the wrong way he’s a player’s coach and every time you hear guys like Lawrence interviewed they mention him. There’s much respect in that locker room for Peterson. He would have prob done a lot better job with Zach than the current and now past Jets coaches.

Job looks easy as a coach if your qb Trevor Lawrence….

Look at belicheck and the pats now…

Lawrence STUNK in the first half.

Lawrence was well on his way his first year and the first half of this year to being Bustola.

Pederson deserves a ton of credit.  He turned his game around and turned the jags fortunes around.

I'll just leave it at that.

Last coaching cycle I wanted to hire either daboll or pederson. They were my 1a and 1b.  1 was a coach with experience and a sb ring, the other was a coach on the rise who developed Josh allen. but we decided we needed to hire another defensive clown.

daboll or pederson would have been much better options than saleh. I just don’t trust defensive coordinators to develop qbs. Jets would be a playoff team with either of those guys.

Oh this is not true. More than half the board wanted saleh.  Especially @joewilly12. Most were elated with the saleh hire. I didn’t get it from the jump

I mean like pre hire. I didn’t notice many people even having him in their top 5. After the hire people were excited. He wasn’t even on my radar really, but was happy with it because he has a good track record and is a great speaker. I wanted an offensive coach

I guess history is all perspective. I don’t remember it that way. I feel like a lot of people wanted saleh. He was a hot coaching candidate.  I remember a lot of people saying we got our guy, our number 1 choice!! etc etc.

You may be right tho. But I feel like he left the building to have a 2nd interview with the chargers and a lot of people were upset about it thinking we would lose out on him

I still think Saleh can be a good coach. That said, Pederson was my top choice and Saleh was like #2.
