Don't know why Favre's harassment is now a Rodgers guilt by association. Their personalities couldn't be any different. White is not under contract with the Jets. If there's a trade for Rodgers they aren't going to have the $ to waste to sign full-time bench players, and how much would it take to get White to re-sign here knowing his next chance at being his team's starter - outside of a random game here or series there - would be at age 30?

White is a better fit for a team that's drafting a QB in round 1, where he might be the early-season - and possibly full-season starter - until the rookie is ready or MFW gets injured, whichever happens first.

At least it looks like the entire braintrust at Florham Park understands trotting out Wilson is a great way to get everyone fired.

My preference would be Carr; cheaper, younger, and hurt by idiot Josh McDaniel and a crappy defense. Think he has a chip on his shoulder. Scary thing about Rodgers is if there's some adversity,at 38 with a YUGE pile of $, does he check out? Which is not saying it might not work for a year or 2. As bad as the Favre mess ended, it worked until he got hurt. Again, problem woith old guys. 

Don't think the Bucs nor the the Rams are throwing out their free agent-driven Lombardis. This is not 1975 and you don't get the chance to have things fall magically into place. The OL and Hall should return to full health,  and the defense can again be very good. Clear Douglas is grasping this may be a chance to gran the brass ring.

Well, if the team adversity reached the levels of Rodgers quitting, we were probably going to suck that year anyway lol.

Also next season he'll be 39, turning 40 in early December, not 38.

The Packers-to-Jets parallels aside, I don't think it's fair to make Rodgers carry Favre's personal baggage. Favre never wanted to come here in the first place; he wanted to go to the one team GB refused to trade him to, and the Jets were a one year stopover. Rodgers would be coming here - or wherever he goes - because he wants to go to a better team than GB has or is likely to have in the next 1-2 seasons.

Douglas very well ****ing should grasp at this if there's any chance ARod's willing to come here (the money is already settled; "adjusting" a hair more or less isn't going to matter all that much). He only has to beat out the next bidder for Rodgers in terms of draft picks, among those teams Rodgers hasn't vetoed in the first place since he has a no-trade clause. When GB grants Rodgers the right to talk to other teams - or just getting an unofficial messenger to communicate as a proxy - Douglas has to sell this as the most obvious contender minus not just a usable QB but how much more it'd be with a great one. That even with Wilson and all his struggles, the team beat the Bills, his Packers, and several others. That the one game White had vs the Bears is a routine, unremarkable game for Rodgers when playing against such a doormat D. Rodgers is also experienced enough to know nobody can fully time injuries, and that through so many of them from the OL to their beast of a RB, even in this division the Jets were still not only not eliminated but were still in control of their own destiny in December.

The Jets are not going to lose any starters the team simply can't live without; are getting back some of their most talented starters who missed all or most of the season; have yet-untapped talent like Moore, under-utilized TEs, Davis or his substitute as yet another WR; and even with adding Rodgers still have the ability to add other veteran hole-pluggers on top of the upcoming draft. That's all with Rodgers kinda knowing weapons-wise he really only needs one top WR and a bunch of JAGs and he's an MVP anyway. Check.

Rodgers wants another ring after going a dozen straight years (4 of them MVP winning seasons) without one. Douglas has to further convince him about - because of our QB deficiency - how much untapped potential this roster really had, especially if they don't get so many simultaneous injuries to the same position/group.

I agree with some of this (Christian Watson did start to come on stronger as the season progressed), but I also don't think he played particularly well. And I just worry about a down year at age 39 and I worry about a guy talking about retirement before he even comes here. Just not infatuated with Rodgers - sorry.

She developed a reputation for seeking out quid pro quo situations rather quickly. When it became clear that she had very little interest in developing into a professional reporter, her contract was not renewed
