We have enough with Wilson/Moore/Mims and mid rd draft pick or FA signing .

Oline or LB needs to be the pick at 13 .

Plus a lot of the pass offense being GW only was play design and  MLF's doing mixed in with poor QB play.

Given that the team needs to sign a QB and possibly multiple OL, I don't believe the Jets will be able to spend big $ on a WR. My preferred options would be to:

a. Bring back Davis on a restructured deal to free up more cap room; or

b. Cut Davis and grab a WR in the second or third round (Rashee Rice, Jalin Hyatt and Jonathan Mingo are intriguing options to me).

Moore and mims are both talented but with sh*tty qb play and being in the doghouse they severely underperformed.

Hyatt probably goes late 1st/ early second based on his breakout year .

You are judging them based on bottom 5 worst offenses in the league the last 2 years with terrible qbs. Moore constantly gets open

Rumor was Hopkins wants a new deal, I'm not overly interested in paying $30m per year for him. If he wants to ring hunt and convert his remaining 2 years into guaranteed money then that's a different story

I don't care about the money .. guy is the perfect compliment to our WRs

The Hopkins contract is very reasonable - just costs whatever the trade value is.

I like Lazard.

I don't think we have to view Corey Davis's 'replacement' as a big, possession WR who can block. We just need a guy with reliable hands who can play on the outside and compliment Wilson. BTW- with a quality QB, Mims could potentially develop into that.

But if we are looking at pick 13 in Rd. 1 the ONLY guy I consider right now is Johnston out of TCU.

If we are looking at Rd. 2, its a different story. But no, I don't nec. want a slot WR. I'm thinking Rashee Rice, Zay Flowers, maybe even Jalyn Hyatt.

As far as FA we can go a number of ways without breaking the bank. Lazard is one option. I really like Darius Slayton. How about Jakobi Meyers? Maybe even DJ Chark? I know people will say these WRs are trash but we don't need a superstar. And the hope is an upgrade at QB will elevate our WR core. And you are cutting CD to save cap space, you don't want to sign a high-priced WR for the same amount of money.

I never understood why fans commit to #1, #2 and 'slot' receiver labels. I mean, yeah. I get it. I know what they means.

But This idea that 'Moore is a slot guy at best' so that somehow makes him not as good or less valuable is odd. Moore can actually play on the outside as well, he's just best suited in the slot. But yes, I think with better QB play he can be a dangerous weapon out of the slot and the Jets should be happy to have him.

Wilson is a stud. There's no debate. He just needs a reliable target to compliment him because he draws so much attention. Moore can be that guy. But it can also be a TE or an outside receiver. It CAN be Mims with the right OC and QB. He certainly has the talent to beat single coverage in the NFL. If the Jets cut Davis/Berrios for cap space they will need to replace those guys. But they don't need some kind of "#2" level WR. They just need an outside receiver with reliable hands who has some ability to block. This is assuming they don't think Mims can handle that role, etc.

It doesn’t seem like this wr class is that great at the top end. Hopefully I’m wrong and we can get someone good. If we can trade Davis for a 5th and grab dhop for a 3rd or 4th that sounds like a great option

The general consensus last year was that there were no top end WRs and we should take one in the second or third and they were completely wrong.

If Lazard is significantly cheaper then Davis, then I agree he would be a great fit.  Davis' best season prior to coming here was 65-984 and Lazard is similar in that his best year was 60-788, so im not sure that he will be that much cheaper.

If Rogers lands here though, I could see him being more interested and possibly not requiring as much of a contract $$$ number.

Allen Lazard provides us something none of our current WRs have - height.

DeAndre Hopkins honorable mention

Prime candidate to overpaid, and given age/contract situation - his agent will surely be pushing him take the best offer. He'll likely get a 3 year/half guaranteed contract, and might be his last.

Short version, not holding my breath.

There were what 3 or 4 wrs being projected in the top 15ish last year? This year is 1 or 2? And none that I can see in the top 12 or so. I haven’t really looked into the draft much yet, but that’s the vibe I’m getting

Mims is not a legit #2 WR by any stretch of the imagination and Moore isn’t anything special.  WR is the pick at 13

Lazard is trash

I don't think he's trash; he's just not a guy who the QB should have to force the ball to 100x because there's so little else. I think he'll get overpaid because of his size, though, and I don't know that he's earned the 2 guaranteed seasons he might garner as a FA. If he can be had in the $6MM range, with teams feeling 800 yards is his realistic ceiling (and a good chance of just 500 yards even if he's an every-week starter), then he'd be a good fit on this team that doesn't need him to be the go-to guy.

I tend to think they need a 30+ Marvin Jones type for $5MM than Lazard at more than double. Just a tall receiver who will win matchups against smaller corners for 3rd down targets rather than someone who needs 80-90 targets on 800-900 snaps. Maybe Mims as well, but I wouldn't fault the team for seeking out a more proven veteran. Thielen was mentioned & think he'd be a good option there. Chark might be, too, if he could stay on the field (though when it doesn't happen for their home team, fans tend to overlook his dropping 10% of his targets in a way they never would if it happened here).

Garrett Wilson's potential aside, I'd be really interested in seeing what Moore can do with a top QB week after week. He was good for ~50/game when they actually threw the ball his way 5x or more, and that was with Flacco-Wilson-White, not an elite passer like Rodgers (nor even a 10-15 guy like Carr). Mims...hard to say, other than of course I'd welcome a huge turnaround; he's still only 25. It'd be an understatement to say he & Moore haven't exactly had elite WR coaching to coincide with the QB typically being sucky. But I expect nothing, and the team can't reasonably be expected to rely upon the unexpected.

Why  is everyone always done in GB LOL

It's ****ing miserably cold up there, and which I'm sure the players like even less at the end of an exhausting season.

The average low/overnight temperature in December is 19 and feels like 2 degrees.

By January it's mostly cloudy or outright overcast most of the time once they're into November & it stays that way until May.

Now imagine you're a young, single athlete who's due to have a ton of cash to throw around on his next contract. Cold as **** and nothing to do compared to so many other cities. I can see why lots of them want to go somewhere else, especially if they grew up in the south or something.

Unpopular opinion but...

In today's wide receiver market, Corey Davis' contract has value.  It would be hard to replace his potential production and blocking at cost in free agency.  And yes, I understand he has dropped passes.  Personally more concerned about his injuries.  Value his blocking and believe he is a more than a solid WR2/3 with a competent QB.

Lastly, I believe we need to continue to build the WR core, but it can't be overstated how much having piss poor QB play impacts WR production.  THe anemic passing offense makes it easy to think that Davis is not a productive receiver.

I think we would be fine running it back with a WR core of Wilson, Elijah, Davis, a rookie, Mims, and J Smith.  Add in the TE weapons, and RBs out of the backfield and a competent QB has more than enough playmakers to work with on offense.

I would be disappointed if Davis is cut but could understand if we need the money for O-line or QB.  I just don't think we will be improving the WR corp through free agency, and don't believe we will match his veteran production with a rookie likely picked later in the draft given our needs.

I don't think we need another slot WR, not to mention he has 1 year of production behind Olave and Wilson + was hurt all year. Gonna be a no for me dawg. If we go the draft route I'm looking for the 6'5" kid from TCU Johnston

Except he wasn't behind them he was the number 1 that year.

Last year he tweaked a hammy and shut it down for the year to get ready for the draft.

Like it or not, he's the modern prototype NFL receiver.  There's alway the place for the plodding big body guy, but give me the separation machine every day.  He, Wilson, and Mims would make a great core with Moore being the first guy off the bench for all three spots.  You couldn't guard them.

I want an outside WR, if Smith-Njigba can play opposite Wilson and allow Moore to be in the slot then that's fine. I just don't see any burst or impressive athletic trait the way I did with Wilson or Olave. Idk how else to explain how I feel when I watch him haha just surprised he'd be considered WR1 in any draft.
