What does MiLF do well as an Offensive Coordinator besides calling offensive plays against the Bears?

  1. His run game and play design are awful
  2. Can't scheme a player open
  3. Redzone offense was bad
  4. His offense failed to score a TD from an empty set formation, in spite of leading the league in that formation
  5. Threw multiple players under the bus including: Becton; Mims; Moore; and Zach
  6. Offense failed to score a TD in the midst of a playoff push in the last 3 games with 4 different QBs

If the Jets did in fact "downgraded" as you stated, then this team is "F#¢%ed".

He, and the Offense he ran, was fine....when it wasn't being run by the poopshow that was Zach Wilson, or a broke-ribbed White, and with no RB, and no O-line, lol.  Our WR's were regularly open, as the film shows, the QB failed to see them or hit them.  Missed opportunities everywhere because of Zach (and in the final run, a broken Mike White who shouldn't have been playing if not for Flacco being the only other option...)

If you think new guy Hack would be better in the same spot, the guy who absolutely bombed in Denver and never called plays when he was with Rodgers, you're fooling yourself.

It's not that MLF was some superstar, it's that he's been scapegoated to excuse the horrid play of our bust #2 overall QB.  Nothing could have fixed Zach Wilson, or made him a legit NFL QB, because he simply isn't one. He has one decent talent, arm strength, and very little else, especially in the brains dept.

Hackett and Zach is worse than MLF and Zach.

Hopefully we have some veteran QB, Rodgers or otherwise, to hide how poop Hack has been as a playcalling OCo/Head Coach.

My issues are…

1. it seemed like he was a convenient scapegoat here. If Saleh was going to go with such a young offensive CS and pair them with such young players, was it realistic to expect things to work well immediately?
2. He had no QB, and the OL was/is a mess. Without Hall we had no running game, and other than GW, our WRs were either jags, or stiffs.
3. if we were going to replace him (or anyone) do it with someone clearly better. If you’re not upgrading what’s the point? Instead we hired a guy that even the most optimistic of fans can only come up with “well, I guess if hiring Hackett gives us a better chance to get Rodgers, I’m okay with it…”

Add to that the fact that one of the top 5 HCs (who can get the pick of the litter to join his staff) chose to hire him right away.
Guys on a message board whining he didn’t turn water into wine doesn’t make him incompetent.

The overarching theme here is that the Jets Front Office has been bad. The Jets roster is not good. It is especially weak at offensive line, coincidentally where they’ve probably spent the most resources. When the Jets predictably strike out on Rodgers and are left with Joe Douglas and stopgap QB, we’ll all be wondering why the inevitable change wasn’t made sooner.

Zach played 9 games this year, and he wasn't good.

What is your excuse for the other 8 games where they averaged 16.125 points a game?

No excuses needed, answers are rather obvious if you care to look.

You did watch the games, right?  If so, you already know why the O sucked.

-Stature Flacco cash'in checks, never should have been on the roster
-Breece Hall injury, backups at RB are JAG's, aren't very good.
-O-line playing 2nd and 3rd stringers or worse
-Mike White is like an egg back there
-Etc.

Sorry if you think new guy Hack would have done better.  He had more to work with in Denver, and produced THE lowest scoring offense in the NFL.

That's who we hired, the worst guy at leading a scoring O in 2022, lol. Lets hope we can make up for him with new talent and rock solid health in 2023.  Otherwise, lol.

My concern isn’t so much fearing that they “let a good one get away” in LaFlower as much as the coming to terms with the very real possibility (or likelihood) that they somehow managed to downgrade by hiring like the one guy whose offense managed to be worse than LaFleur’s.

It’s as if Saleh said to himself hey why settle for the 29th best offense in the league when I can have the 32nd?

Shades of the Jets firing a HC who ended with a 6 game losing streak (Pete Carroll) and replacing him with one who lost 8 straight (Kotite).

I'm indifferent about Hackett, but your response is littered with excuses.

So MiLF couldn't muster any offense because of a statue, an egg, stringer and some backups. Sounds more like a scavenger hunt than an excuse. The offense sucked because of MiLF. Zach was bad, but so was every other QB that played this year and the common denominator is that scrawny-butt MiLF. You saw a scapegoat, I saw a coach that was in way over his head that had no idea what to call, how to scheme a player open or how to design a play, but otherwise, lol.

One man's obvious facts are another man's "excuses".

If you think you know an O-Co who could have led this O to something better, well, great.

We didn't hire that guy.  We hired another failed Hackett, lol.

If you say so.
