The HORRIFIC game of CHICKEN Douglas facing on Carr decision

Recommended Posts

Problem is, day after SB, Carr is Free agent if he isnt traded yet as Raiders owe him 35M day after SB.

So if we dont trade for Carr before SB and then he picks another team and Rodgers says no we are stuck with Jimmy G (he good QB ) BUT means Zach might start a few games (or shudder, more) while always hurt Jimmy is out. If Jets make it clear they can sign Mike White to be #2 I will feel better about Jimmy G.

If Jimmy G says no, we are left  with Minshew, Brady (SF I think), Winston, Marriotta (Lamar I assume stay in Baltimore as they well rum front office and will find a way). The only one I semi-trust is Minshew, but his pedigree is such that a few bad games and he could be removed. He isnt star material.

If I was Carr I’d secure an even bigger contract with the team of my choosing on the down low.

Make the Raiders cut me because I have a no trade clause and then sign with my new team.

Derek gets more money and doesn’t weaken his future team. Raiders are stuck if Carr doesn’t help them.

True, BUT, some in Raiders org want to pay the 35 M and hold him longer and get a bigger trade haul as season nears and some teams desperate. Carr then runs risk of having no playoff caliber teams left. Raiders a wierd org

Carr has a no trade clause meaning he could just opt out of any trade and just get paid for sitting at home if they want to play that game.

Then when the league finds out they suspend Carr for life and take every draft pick away from the team who negotiated the contract on “the down low” for the next 5 years

Seems like a good plan.

Raiders have given permission for he and agent to talk to teams

I’m beyond scared we lose out on the QB musical chairs game.

If we end up with minshew or jacoby brisset type options it’s a fire able offense.

The structured run based version of WCO could actually work with Minshew (I think) He is VERY accurate on his throws and he LEADS WRs which means YAC, something Zach could NEVER do is get YAC cause he didnt lead his WRs

Whoever acquires Carr will agree to terms during SB week so it'll be the Jets, or the Jets will know their focus has to be shifted to Rodgers/Jackson.

If not Jets thats timeframe where you couldnt drive a nail up my ass with a 20 lb sledgehammer

This is obviously just speculation but I feel like Saleh already knows who his QB is going to be next year. One of the press conferences after they announced the Hackett hire Cimini (i believe) asked him if there was potential for there to be a QB competition between Z. Wilson and whatever vet they bring in and Saleh just kind of looked to the side and came back with a sht eating grin on his face before responding "ask me before training camp". Just vibed like he knows.

You're probably right, given he has no poker face in press conferences.

The question is, does Zach know?

considering the competition was Zach I think Selah would have grinned at any of the guys in question and also throw in YA Titles corpse and Josh Rosen

Nobody is getting traded before March 15th.

Can still agree to terms.  Rams trade for Stafford was announced prior to the Super Bowl and made official soon thereafter.

I’m a bit of a Minshew fan boy, I think he’s criminally underrated and I know he’s not the biggest name out there, but we can do much worse than Minshew White Zach.  The guy has put up great stats on some really really bad teams.  He’s accurate, can run a bit, and brings a lot of moxy.

Stop. Minshew is a backup. When you have options like carr and Rodgers out there you don’t get …..minshew

Rodgers may retire or Green Bay may decide not to trade him. Carr has a notrade contract, he is also aware of his horrible stats in cold weather so he may not be open to coming to New Jersey. Jackson will either be signed to a multi year contract or franchised. Brady isn’t coming to New Jersey, he will either return to Tampa, go to San Fran, or Las Vegas. At this point you are down to the Minshew, Mayfield, Tannehill, Brissett tier.

JD  not gonna wait until the last minute to know if GB is willing to move 12 and what it would cost to trade for Lamar or if Baltimore is willing to move him. He’s not going to let Carr’s deadline come up without knowing he can get Rodgers or Lamar and already have an agreement in place.

No doubt JD is plugged into the situations for all of these guys And has probably talked to all the GMs and has gauged cost/interest

Won’t impact the bonus. Won’t be official

Correct.  That's why I said the deal for Stafford was agreed to during SB week and made official soon thereafter.  Trade can be agreed to and processed as soon as the new league year begins.  Acquiring team gets their player and Raiders are off the hook for the money they'd owe Carr otherwise.  Everyone gets what they want.
