A great defense doesn't let the Lions march right down the field and score with 2 minutes left when the offense had given them a lead.

It doesn't have to be a great defense. If the offense could play decent football we wouldn't be nitpicking the defense nearly as much. We nitpick the defense and talk about all the things it's not largely because we know the offense is hopeless given the QB situation and O-Line.

But in that particular game, yes, the defense did need to finish that one and they didn't. That was a bad one. It happens. They aren't great. But the defense is good enough.

No debate.  He is batsh*t crazy.  I think his record blows, but so do most of these guys.  Carson Strong in the first round?  C'mon.  I don't have a problem with people posting his sh*t, I just think his record blows.  Sometimes it is good to hear a contrary opinion.

Isn’t that the dude who think Aaron Hernandez is a martyr for Christ or some sh*t?

The defense, as a whole, didn't.

That TD was squarely on CJ Mosley who let the TE run right by him, then by the time he realized oops that's going to be an open man running the opposite way towards an empty zone, the damage was done as he was too wide open.

This brain-fart of his came the week after he brain-farted against Buffalo, jumping offsides on an obvious non-attempt that nobody else in the league falls for anymore.

I seriously don't get what anyone sees that he does on the field that's supposed to be so wonderful.

Jet fans have been revolting for a decade.  Whoop-di-damn-doo.  You think they'll be a middling team that perhaps is sniffing at the playoffs?  You mean like this year?  Things don't go much worse at QB than they did for the 2022 Jets and they were not that far off, no matter what the perception is.  They beat a bunch of backup QBs and had a bunch of things break right, but they were pretty close for a team that most of this board feels is in dire need of a house cleaning.

You said it, they stink on ice.

And the plays before that let the Lions move methodically to midfield.

I like the idea of buying a little lower and starting to groom a mid-round pick.

Two guys on my radar are Hendon Hooker (who will drop in the draft due to his age and injury) but is otherwise a very intriguing prospect. And Jake Haener-  expected to go in Rd. 5.

I know you despise Mosley, but that screw up was squarely on Quincy Williams and Whitehead.

We can say its February 2 and it has to get warmer, but it is February 2.

We can say it is year 4 of JD and year 3 of Saleh and there is a playoff mandate, but was the basis of that?  The irony is that, with last season’s roster, maybe we make the playoffs if White plays a little more and some other balls bounce the right way.   So now we are supposed to pay a new QB $40mm+, cut some good but overpriced players, and then make the playoffs?   I don’t know if that happens.

I think last season was the year we made the playoffs.  I think next season is worse.
